Daniel Bortz is not a big fan of recless experiments, making his new release even more interesting: Daniel's breaking his own rule of not having his own tracks remixed. When you make a choice like that after such a long time, you don't just let any old producer to get the job done. That's why he has chosen Tuff City Kids to remix the track 'Pictures' from his 2013 album 'Patchwork Memories'.

The track is part of an upcoming EP named 'Patchwork Memories Remixes', a 4-part work consisting of other remixes of Bortz' work by the likes of Acid Pauli, Nu and Bostro Pesopeo. 

The EP will hit stores on April 25th

What is cool?

Miles Davis was cool. His classic "So What" was very cool. Ronny Jordan's acid jazz take on Miles' "So What" was very cool indeed. 

I like cool!

As "Take Five" inspired me to do "Take Six", "So What" inspired me to do "That's What". Same logic applies; an outline with lots of room for manouvering, contact a bunch of awesome musicians, see what they come up with and blend and stir everything into a delightfully cool cocktail. Swing it ;-)!

 I have wanted to include in this my new track all my luggage in a mix of musical genres that are well suited and perfectly match my idea of music lounge and chill out together with the jazz and latin style, although I do not like to confine my conception of music in a predetermined style.

As a true tradition of improvisation, all the songs have not previously been written or tested several times before recording, but have been recorded "directly" leaving it to chance and my inspiration of the moment and the outcome of the success of the piece.
