“Be patient, and don’t expect any results really quickly,” says German techno legend Chris Liebing and even though he’s talking about pursuing a career in the DJ world these words ring true for all of us. Good things take their time folks. 30 years into his career The DJ and producer is celebrating one of his biggest milestones with the release of his sophomore album Another Day. 

We talk about slowing down with music and embracing its delayed gratification in a fast-paced world.

There are still first times happening for me in Europe, even after travelling and DJing the continent for almost 25 years now. But I have never ever made it to Cyprus before. So on March 24th it was my very first time on this beautiful island, and it could not have gone any better. The awesome crew of @technohabitsnicosia were such amazing hosts, real outstanding. And what a cool location in the middle of nowhere really. I felt like in the early days of raves. Not to mention the amazing crowd in the Camelot (yes, indeed it looked like a little old English castle). Cyprus, I feel a whole lot of love for all of you there. What an awesome event you put up, I cannot say enough how thankful I am that you invited me and I really hope to be back super soon. Maybe in the summer? So now I am happy to share the 3+ hour set I got to play there with all of you. Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed playing it. It is filled with loads of upcoming and current CLR releases by the way. Try and spot them.

On September 10th at the end of a 7 week long absolutely incredible summer tour (thank you all for that) I got to play in beautiful Switzerland, to be more precise in Interlaken at the Apocalypse Dance Event. It was a real fun gig that was even more fun as I was playing almost 2 of those 4 hours b2b with my friend Radio Slave. What a blast we had and I thought it might be nice to share that whole set with you on AMFM. The first kind of 90 min are me alone and after that Radio Slave joins me for almost 2 hours before I finished the night off solo again. Wonder if you can spot the exact moment (hint: it is in the second hour) where Matt is joining me. If you think so, please leave a comment in the comments and I will check! I hope as always you enjoy the show! The tracklisting is sadly not complete, as I don’t know what Matt was playing, maybe you can fill in the blanks.

P.s: Fun fact, Interlaken has its name, as it is located between two lakes! Very practical those Swiss ....

AMFM I 397 – CLR Podcast Special with Shlomi Aber

So I was on a North America tour for two weekends, playing 4 gigs. All really amazing gigs, so thanks to everyone involved in San Fransisco at (@halcyon_sf) , San Diego at (@bloomdtsd) New York at (@knockdowncenter) and finally in Toronto at (@activate_events_ in a secret warehouse location) I had such a blast on each individual gig and again may I say that this was one of the best tours up to date.. Amazing to see things going so well with Techno in North America and people having so much fun. During the week I spent some nice days in LA hanging out, where by the way my next gig will be for a cool Warehouse Party with @drumcell and his crew on November 26th in case you read this and you are there, get your tix… (link is this: https://bit.ly/3EkAK28 )

For this AMFM show I chose the last set that I played on the tour, the one from Toronto. There are loads of unreleased tracks in there, so don’t share with too many people please, as I really should not be already playing them out loud. Like the next release on CLR with (@Blackasteroid_official & @risa_taniguchi_rs called the ‘Acid Flesh EP’) and my next release on CLR… just look for those vocal samples like “love those who fight the oppressors” and “passion” and you know already. And there is some new awesome DEAS material as well included… so much good new music on the horizon - great times for Techno. So I hope you enjoy this week´s show and once more, thanks to everyone coming out to the shows in the US and Canada (by the way, Knockdown Center.. what a massive location and party .. wow)!

Those four things combined led to one of the most intense and massive nights that I ever had in Italy… and I have been playing there since more than 20 years. So what else can I say, actually really nothing, but thanks to everyone involved, Gianluca, everyone of the crew and all of those wild party people in Rome. Oh, and a special thanks goes out to the @chrisliebingfansclub , guys, I thank you so much for the support and all the love over the years, means the world to me and it always is such pleasure to see you and party with you. Driving 17h in a car, cause your flights to Amsterdam got cancelled the week before and you didn’t wanna miss ADE… that was insane of you and I will never forget it. AMFM I 405 - Live @Spazio 900, Rome - 31.10.22 - 4/4

LA has always had and has a special place in my heart. So many amazing memories. Been playing there since the late 90’s. In 2009 I played for the first time for “Interface” (now @Observe) and it happened to be the first time that I met Moe Espinosa aka @drumcell who is one of my best friends ever since. That first party was quite something, as I forgot one of my bags with my sound interfaces in the hotel and Moe had to drive me back to the hotel (a 45min drive.. well yeah, that is LA). During the drive we got to talk a little and I asked him if those parties he is doing never get busted as they are mostly illegal in downtown LAs warehouse district. He told me “never”. Next thing that happened was that he got a phone call with me in the car driving and someone told him that the fire marshals just showed up and busted the event. He as the promoter of the event couldn’t be there as he was driving the idiot who forgot his bag in the hotel. To make a long story short, he and his crew organised a new warehouse nearby and I ended up playing till the morning. I recently posted about it, so go back on my Instagram and you see a little video how all this went down.
This time it was the 20 year anniversary. I managed to not forget my bags, but when I entered the event space, I saw a police helicopter hovering above me with a spotlight shining right at me. Luckily it turned out they weren’t interested in our party, so this time no location change was needed and we had a blast. I am so honoured to be playing at their 20 year anniversary. The crew around Drumcell has been a cornerstone in the LA underground Techno scene and without them, Techno on the west coast would not be what it is today. All promoters running Techno shows in LA, San Diego and so on should be grateful for them building such an amazing scene. @observe , good luck for the next 20 years and I hope I can play a little part in it, also in the future.
My set was about 3,5h long and today´s show contains the second hour of it. Make sure you get the whole set on my Mixcloud Select page (alternatively also without any jingles and voiceovers) once it has all been released, as the ending was quite special with one of my absolute favourite tracks of the year..

Another legendary club that closed down too soon in 2015, Vessel was a beautifully designed club in the middle of San Francisco, with a top notch sound system. I always loved to play there, especially open to close sets. This one here is 5 hours long and from February 2014. Today´s show features the second hour of the set. The interesting thing with Vessel was, that it was not a “pure” techno club, actually just a few techno nights were on in this place and I guess, I was always among the most “underground” DJs to play there. I love those kind of challenges, to get a crowd going that is not only there to hear you, but also filled with people who might have never heard this kind of music before, let alone knew who I was. This is why this set is for some of you maybe all over the place and a little more tamed down, but as far as I remember, that night was quite a belter :)  People were always up for a good party in there, no matter what the musical direction.
