Leopard stalks the streets

Stopping quite by chance
Watching people dance

A flight of madrigals
A happy crowd that mills
Leopard fixes his stare
Keeper doesn’t care.

 
Leopard’s eyes reciting
These scenes so inviting

Feet beginning to swell.

Escapees from prison
Gaze full of wisdom
If only they’d listen
These human children.

Leaving behind squares
People in arm chairs
Vanishing into air

Writer of prose and poetry since mid-1960s. Given an acoustic guitar in 1978 by long-suffering sister. Many songs produced that way. More recently, guitar skills all but faded, using GarageBand and Logic Pro to put words to music.
