The warmth of old friends
The press of larger ends
Meetings to shape a world
Beatings by the state absurd.

At some point he’d had enough
The play continued very rough
The pressure increasing sharp
Became a burden of the heart.

He awoke from that dream of pain
Evaporated, shredded, insane
Sank into the rust red plain
To him it felt like heaven’s rain.
