The queen of diamonds
Descends the stairs
With two fair knights

Her aura shines out
To fill the place
Drawing all present
Into her space.

A rare moment
In this time of silence.

Dreaming hearts
A throng of sages
An evening gathering
From the stoned ages.

The room itself
Full of easy chairs
Scent of dreams
On the evening air.

In the background
The white albums play
Endless songs
From a penny arcade.

Writer of prose and poetry since mid-1960s. Given an acoustic guitar in 1978 by long-suffering sister. Many songs produced that way. More recently, guitar skills all but faded, using GarageBand and Logic Pro to put words to music.
