I'm just here as a listener and every now and then offer artists advice on commercial matters. I do this pro bono. Mostly because it's entirely possible my advice is full of shit and not worth your hard earned money. Many artists have become dear friends and they know I've been dissapointed  enough as a manager to never enter that space again except as a helpful friend to mature artists....the troubled genius who has no choice but to be a narcissistic child is a pop culture myth and not worth my time.  I'll offer the input but you have to do the leg work.  A music career and artist journey is primarily about continuous output of great material that have atleast kernels of truth; knowing whether you want an indie or big label path and not pissing off those who try to help you....your music is as important as the commitment you give it...but above all else, be exceptional human beings outside of music.  You'll find that your writing will stand out as beautiful as it is magnificent.

Bio:

Formed by Helena and Simon who met at a mutual friends party, London based Periscope View got together early in 2014 creating indie rock music, but in May 2014 the line up changed as the bass player left, so Ian took over and re-wrote those parts on the keys, adding another unique element to the music.

By June 2014, Periscope View had found their new sound, and have drawn comparisons to artists such as Morcheeba, Portishead, London Grammar, Sneaker Pimps, The XX and Sigur Rós. A couple of months later, Periscope View were spotted by industry podcast Chartburst and featured as one to watch.

After a year showcasing their sounds and working hard to create original, interesting and thoughtful songs alongside energetic performances, Summer 2015 brought the much anticipated release of The Grays Grown EP recorded at OneCat Studios, produced and mastered by Del Sajiwandani aka DJ Sonic.

The Grays Grown EP gave Periscope View the right attention from LoudUp and Tom Robinson and led to all manner of exciting gigs from festivals, community events and venues. 

Periscope View recorded their second EP Photographs, with Steve Honest in Hackney, which was released in January 2016. Crossing diverse styles and genres, this new body of work crosses diverse styles and genres, showcasing the bands strong, unapologetic musical identity forged from the unique harmony between organic and processed sounds.

The songwriting is the bands strongest to date with production that allows the individual musicians talents to shine.

Described as “a cross between every laurel canyon band you’ve ever heard, mixed with a healthy helping of acid”, mylittlebrother’s unique mix of 60s pop, rock and garage rock has led to a dedicated fanbase at gigs across the country, and lead to critical acclaim for their 2 albums and their blistering live shows.

Their most recent album Howl, was released in 2020 on L.A’s Big Stir Records to critical acclaim. 2023 has been spent writing the follow up, and honing their live sound by gigging all over the country, including a well received national tour in October, joined by Hector Gannet.

They have had support from Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, with the latter describing Nosedive as “a worthy contender for record of the week”, and further airplay has come on BBC Radio 1, Amazing Radio and local radio across the UK.

mylittlebrother’s eclectic, hard-to-pin-down style has brought invitations to perform with Frank Turner, Glasvegas and Juniore, and has lead to dozens of festival appearances including headlining stages at Kendal Calling,Wild On The Wall and Haddstock, as well as a joyous main stage appearance at Solfest. They have also appeared on the line-ups at the Sea Power curated Krankenhaus, ButeFest, EskFest, Haddstock and many more.



New Single You Know Better is out on 17th May, ahead of a short run of dates, with their 3rd album due early 2025.
