Rhapsody in Des Opus 17/1 - Herbert Howells (1892-1983)

Mechelen Cathedral - Live-recording (september 2015) at the 1958 Stevens organ (IV/P 84), designed by Flor Peeters (1903-1986). 

Apart from the addition of 2 trumpet-stops on the Grand Organ, this instrument hasn't been altered since 1958. Its overall condition is mediocre: worn out electrical system (still the original from 1958), lots of leakages all over the organ, problems with tuning. Despite these problems, this instrument can still be considered as one of the most important examples of the neoclassical organ-era in Belgium.

Christmas improvisation on grand piano

Peter Maus plays the the 'Pereboom & Leijser' organ (II/P, 1863)in Neeritter (NL). 
This organ is based on a unknown 18th-century organ. 
Many stops date back to this era. 
In 1967 the instrument was restored by Vermeulen (NL). 
In 2016, Verschueren (NL) cleaned the organ and carried out some other maintenance work.
