Inside Practice

A rare recording of a song I wrote for the great Kat Edmonson.  This was a first run-through and not a polished, nor rehearsed, song at the time.  Kat answered an ad I had placed for a female singer and Kat wanted to be a country singer when she and I started rehearsing.  I didn't feel like her voice was best for country music so I wrote a few songs that, to me, highlighted her voice.  I wrote a couple of other songs for her that are now her staple sound and this song here started it all.  This song was inspired by the band Jellyfish and their song The Glutton of Sympathy.

Swing Style

This music was from a an early rehearsal of band I was in and we called ourselves The Essentials.  We went with that name because all we wanted to bring to the table was "the essentials" for playing authentic Ska music from the 1960's.  We wanted the sound to be raw, similar to the sounds from StudioOne and the songwriting was to also pay homage to that early sound.  Adrian (Vince) Zapata on guitar, Art Baker on Bass, and Peter Moreno on Drums.
