For their first installment, the Chateau Chépère crew brings a diverse EP by ambient house maestra Rai Scott.
Opening the EP is Logical Positivism, a deep, driving and cinematic nod to the forest dance floors of the late 90’s. On Track 4 Inspired, Rai brings the club in an introspective, melancholic mood with a slower, steady beat, rolling percussions while dreamy pads shroud the dancers. Picking up the pace is Open Your Eyes, a warm, bittersweet piece of house from from her own alter ego Serendipity. The club friendly 2021 rework shifts into an early morning vibe, while keeping it deep and moody. Closing out the EP is the title track Anahata Nada, a gorgeous, warm piece of ambient for the chill rooms.

“Pleasure Pool are Finn O’Hare (synths, production), Andrew Robertson (vocals) and a rolling cast of Glasgow-based musicians, performers and artists. They sound like nothing else to have come out of Glasgow recently, exploring the territory between live performance and club culture through their collaborative ethos and party-starting attitude. Their debut EP, Night Scars, arrived in early March 2020 and now comes Love Without Illusion, Pleasure Pool's debut album, released on Optimo Music.
 
Largely written during the pandemic, Love Without Illusion adds layers of complexity and introspection to Night Scars' squarely dance floor-focused brew, though the record still oozes danceable energy. Open Hours is like opening a door and finding a party already in full swing, an assortment of recurring Pleasure Pool motifs – echoing, dubbed-out vocals, gorgeous, impossibly airy synth melodies, louche percussion, cowbells, rising and falling flecks of trumpet – all introduced in short order. Lick The Bag, which prominently features vocalists Chloe Charlton and Raissa Pardini, has a controlled chaos befitting its morning-after-the-night-before name. 
 
The rest of the album rides this glimmering, night-magic mood at varying frequencies, with the title track a gentle storm of grandiose walls of synth and pulsing vocal fragments. The slow and low flickering funk of album closer Zero Hours pulls all that has come before it together to end things in the woozy bliss of a walk back home in warm, gentle sunlight.

Floral Remnant, a track from Alex Albrecht's new album 'Coles Ridge,' is a mesmerizing composition that showcases the artist's musical ingenuity and inspiration drawn from his explorations of the Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne's east. Side A delivers some fresh hypnotic techno sounds by Bastian Balders himself while side B catches up with some groovy house tracks by Anton Kubikov, who is active since the mid 90s and well known for his minimalistic dub techno-house style. Side A ends with a mysterious electronica outro while Anton produced some chilled guitar riffs combined with acoustic signals and delays to finish the whole EP. David, one of the co-founders of the renowned UK-based record label Simpler Times, presents a beautiful musical journey with his latest track, "Full Circle," featured on his upcoming EP, aptly titled 'Moments.'

David's meticulous production techniques breathe life into the track, conjuring a gorgeous sonic landscape that envelops the senses. Chateau Chepere's fourth outing is another blissed-out bit of sunrise material that carefully accompanies dancers from a darkened dance floor out into the light. Zurich's underground mainstay Eli Verveine kicks off with the zoned-out tones and dusty deep house drums of 'Morning Dub' before Andu Simion & Dragos Roban aka Two Metromaniac Guys then comfort with the dubby, lo-fi deep house of 'Execution Error' with its hazy melodies and leggy bass. Australian legend Tim Jackiw then brings things back into sharper focus with the crisp dub house of his classy closer 'Empty Theater'.

Icelandic artists Ohm & Octal Industries join forces once again this July to deliver their ‘Northwest Passage’ LP for the Lempuyang imprint.
Both Ohm and Octal Industries have long been at the forefront of the Dub-tinged Techno scene for multiple decades. The two artists hail from the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik, a place which has paved the way for Dub Techno for many years through the iconic Thule Records and its sub-label Æ Recordings, which the pair have also been involved in throughout the years. As well as this, Ohm & Octal Industries have released material on the likes of Rawax, Nilla, Luck Of Access, Taped Artifact and of course Lempuyang where they return here.
Across the eight-track collection that makes up the ‘Northwest Passage’ LP, Ohm & Octal Industries offer up their signature dubbed-out, delicately nuanced style in various forms. Opening cut ‘Northern Exposure’, ‘Erebus’ and ‘Stratospheric Clouds’ embrace a loop-led, classic Dub Techno feel while the likes of ‘Nykur’, ‘Anguta’ and ‘Bára’ verge off into more textural realms with cinematic ambience and stripped-back drums. The pair also explore a more off-kilter rhythmic style with ‘Frumbyggjar’ and ‘Photokeatitis’, fusing broken rhythms with intricately intertwined synths and low-end pulsations, perfectly showcasing the depth of their style throughout.

Swiss label Phantom Island's second compilation features 5 previously unreleased tracks from the label's roster. The A-side kicks off with L.A.-based Maraschino remixed by Fuga Ronto, a bass-laden treatment that nods to the dancefloor. Second is Zurich's own crooner who is looking for fun: Moreeats, remixed by label co-owner Kejeblos. This is groove-heavy business that will get stuck in your ears. The B-side leads into dreamier realms, starting with CCO (Florin Büchel) in his most cosmic acid outfit. Followed by Ethimm, whose contribution proves his ability to create a romantic genre mix on a carefully arranged mid-tempo tune. The EP is brought to a close by Lexx with a soothing instrumental that will take you safely through a gentle drizzle of rain. The cover artwork by artist Anna Hilti is a depiction of 6 orchid species that are in danger of extinction in Switzerland. Uncommon species for sure!

Die A-Seite überzeugt mit sanftem Prog Variationen. Janthe, ihres Zeichen Newcomerin aus Leipzig, fügt rollende Basslines und dubbige Chords zu ihrem Track „Radiant Visions“ zusammen. Ein Titel, der für den Dancefloor konzipiert wurde. Der erfahrene Produzent Priori erhöht das Tempo und erzeugt mit „A Circle“ eine schwebende Stimmung. Die B-Seite beginnt mit „Fruit Basket“, einem Leftfield Track des Duos Salamanda, der garantiert seinen Platz auf der NACHTI Ambient Stage finden wird. Die B2 „Hazel Witch“ zieht im Tempo deutlich an und ist eine Dekonstruktion von House, und außerdem das erste Release von AGY3NA.
