Daniel Lucas AKA Pigmalião

Pigmalião is the result of experiments on merging Latin American regional and roots references with specific sounds from other parts of the world. Pigmalião is the materialization of the reference acquis from the label Frente Bolivarista and remains in constant transformation alongside the label release narrative.

Frente Bolivarista has made a stellar rise over the past year to be one of the labels to watch for the future of Latin America music. The label has dug deep with many compilations, releasing names such as Captain Planet (USA), Thomash (DE), Montoya (CO), El Búho (NL), Akimbo (GB), Carrot Green (BR), Quixosis (EC) and others.
Brazilian musical legacy has always seemed somewhat set apart from the rest of the continent but the label, alongside the growing links between booming São Paulo and Buenos Aires, Quito or Lima shows that the tide is changing. It is indeed the becoming, and going even further than, the musical version of Bolivar’s dream: a global collaboration of new, inter infected, border hopping sounds shaping the future of Latin American music.

Here's Oceania's second encounter with the series, made by producer Moontide, who in this mix included a few of the new tracks he's written and a couple he did for a film score. 

As a clear intention for the mix, he chose the theme of global healing. It's a storyline narrated from the view point of mother Earth looking back on her planet engulfed in flames, there are spoken word pieces by 4 different women (Jeanne Lee, Severin Cullis, Greta Thunberg & Ayme Doran) throughout to narrate the storyline. He recorded it in his studio whilst almost the whole state he lives in is on fire, triggering a lot of protests to do with climate change. So this is an artistic contribution to support the message.
