RiGNA FOLK is a band, which creates a parallel universe. A rainy and dreamy place, which changes frequently, while accompanied by the music: Expressive like Sigur Rós, metaphorical like Pink Foyd and keen on experimenting like Radiohead. Many video productions reflect their addiction to visual media: A show by RiGNA FOLK is characterized by large-sized projections, containing visual elements of the film noir, modified into new intensive pictures. A whole variety of atmospheres is to be created, which ranges from dreamy melancholy to delusional aggression. RiGNA FOLK love the extreme and this applies also to places, in which they perform: In a prison in Stuttgart- Stammheim in front of 300 inmates or in a labyrinth of caves on the schwäbischen Alb. Successful tours in Germany justify, that RiGNA FOLK are able to create a sound universe and to captivate their audience on every stage size, at all times of the day and even in the middle of a pedestrian area. Ulm, often shrouded in fog, is their home. And nevertheless RiGNA FOLK tell about another place, a parallel universe, in which exists a planet, consisting of just one city, called “Astropolis”. A rainy metropolis, as from an elegiac Film Noir.
