But they burn holes through the fabric
Like your words through my mind

I watched the sun rise on a dead screen
Blue light washing out my dreams
I smiled in the mirror for no one
Hoping maybe it would mean something

I trace the silence in the air
Like I’m trying to prove I still care

Echoed footsteps on a broken stair
