Call To Love is the first song I recorded in studio.

This experience was a huge step in building my confidence and started my journey towards really working on producing my own stuff. 

I like to think of this song as a sort of personal mantra to live by. And when life gets tough, I return to it as a much needed reminder to myself of beauty in the world. 

Glad to finally add this to my SoundCloud collection. I hope you enjoy :)

"Rays of Summer Sun" 

Here is a small summer-related excercise I played the other day using my old Korg SGProX as a midi keyboard! Everything except the brass was created using sounds from the wonderful UVI Emulation+ virtual synthesizer (representing the lovely hardware sounds of the E-mu Emulator, Emulator II, Emulator III and Drumulator). The brass is from the UVI JP Legacy/Saturn-6 (cf. Jupiter 6).

Note: For my friends on Sound Cloud who don't speak any french the word phoque (pronounced phuck) in french means a seal. Hence the title of the song in english would be The Blues of A Seal In Alaska. It's the story of a seal in Alaska whose girlfriend leaves him go perform in a circus in the United States and he's got The Blues

This is my version of the classic québécois song originally written by Michel Rivard. The english equivalent when "feelings" are concerned would be a combination of Summertime and House of The Rising Sun as far as immortal songs are concerned.

C'est ma version de la chanson classique québécoise écrit par Michel Rivard. L'équivalent anglais comme "feeling" serait un combination de Summertime et The House of The Rising Sun en ce qui concerne des chansons immortelles.

Bio
In 2007 at age 63 Montrealer Peter Wheeler bought his first guitar. He then went to amazon.com and purchased a book called “How To Play The Guitar for Dummies”. Since then he hasn’t looked back. 

Sometimes serious - sometimes humorous Wheeler’s music seeks to re-capture the Classic Vibes  from the 70’s & 80’s. To best describe his music imagine Bob Dylan & The Doors meet The Clash & Leonard Cohen at the Hotel California & share a bottle of wine with Tarantino. Peter Wheeler is a poet - focusing all his energies into creating musical canvases to express his personal vision of the world surrounding him. 

For several years Peter was part of the local bar scene in the Greater Montreal area.  He performed as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for The Rock Roulette Band. His experiences giving live performances and continually improving his guitar playing has truly shown that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

In 2020 Peter teamed up with Johnny Vienneau, a multi- talented musician and Producer from Montreal and recorded his first album of cover songs called "Self Portrait".  https://soundcloud.com/peter-wheeler/sets/self-portrait-1
