Peter Aisher is a British tenor training at the Royal College of Music International Opera School, where he is the Janet & Michael Levesley Scholar supported by a Douglas & Hilda Simmonds Award and by the Josephine Baker Trust.
Peter read Astrophysics at Clare College, Cambridge, before arriving at the Royal College of Music, where he studies with Tim Evans-Jones. He graduated from his postgraduate studies with Distinction and was the winner of the Ted Moss & Bertha Taylor-Stach Prize for Lieder, and of the Joan Chissell Schumann Prize.
He enjoys an active duo partnership with pianist Lucy Colquhoun, and together they were one of 40 duos selected to participate in Das Lied International Song Competition in Berlin in February 2015.
Operatic roles include: Albert Albert Herring RCMIOS, Arete (Giove) Giove in Argo (RCMIOS), Alfredo La traviata (Rye Arts), Don Ottavio Don Giovanni (Rye Arts), Tamino The Magic Flute (Opera Cocktail), Ferrando Così fan tutte (Opera Lyrica), Apollo/Demus Jason (ETO), Torquemada L’heure espagnole (RCMIOS), Monostatos Die Zauberflöte (RCMIOS), Rodolfo La Bohème (scenes), Nemorino L’elisir D’amore (scenes), Gontran La Vie Parisienne (RCMIOS), Orphée Orphée aux Enfers (scenes), Alfred Die Fledermaus (CUOS), Belmonte Die Entführung aus dem Serail (scenes), Frederick Pirates of Penzance (CUGS, CaOS), Madwoman Curlew River.
Performances on the concert platform include: Bach St John Passion (tenor soloist), St Matthew Passion (tenor soloist), Christmas Oratorio (evangelist and tenor soloist), Haydn Missa Sancti Nicolai, Missa in tempore belli, Monteverdi Vespro della Beata Virgine, Mozart Requiem, Vesperae solennes de confessore, Litaniae Lauretanae, K.109, Orff Carmina Burana, Tippet A Child of Our Time, as well as contemporary works: Giles Swayne’s Hubbub, Christopher Brown’s A Five-Gated Well, and David Earl’s settings of Rupert Brooke poetry for tenor and piano with the composer at the piano.
