As previously announced the forthcoming vinyl compilation LP “Transience" will feature a new recording of Lazarus, originally recorded by Porcupine Tree for the “Deadwing" album in 2004.  

To mark the release of this new version you can listen to my original demo of the song.  This was actually the first of two demos I made of Lazarus, and it features a very different middle 8, subsequently rewritten for the second demo and final album recording.  

Lazarus was one of several songs that were based on a film script that I was working on at the time with my friend Mike Bennion, and the David mentioned in the song is a central character in that script.

This is a demo track using Positive Grid BIAS for Desktop running in Reaper on my Mac. I used my Cilia CGA7 for all the guitar parts using a slightly modified Mark IIc+ amp for both rhythm and lead parts and the British AD 20 bass amp model with my cheap Ibanez Bass. Drums are Superior Drummer 2.

This is an early concept from the development of Mini Metro. I was trying to figure out what the music might be like in the game, and one idea I had was to write a very simple piece of music that transpired over the course of one in-game week, that also captured the ups and downs of a stereotypical week, commuting each morning weekday to and fro, partying on friday night, hungover on saturday, etc. Each hour is about 0.83 seconds long.

Peter Blaise is a Hungarian composer, musician, and producer who's been playing music for a decade now. He has released 5 albums under his own name. He incorporates acoustic instruments with virtual instruments in a minimalistic approach. In the future he will continue working on thematic instrumental albums.
