It took me a surprisingly long time to figure out what song I wanted to cover next, but I ended up settling with this. Tomoya Ohtani is a really good composer, and it shows in his works for Sonic Runners. I wanted to choose something that was on the shorter side, and the invincibility theme of the game gave me that length while also introducing me to new challenges to work with. The percussion rising and falling part towards the second half of the song was hard to figure out, but I came up with a way to make it work, and making all the instruments fade out and back in in tune with the song was also surprisingly easy. I tried matching the EDM feel of the song, but the strong percussion might make it more rock-y. Just as I was finishing the cover, I found a way to tie the guitar and piano even more together than they already were. All of this lead me to a cover that... I think sounds pretty good. Really good, actually.
I don't know what I'll work on next, but I'll try to come up with something soon. I really like furnace a lot, though I do miss famitracker a little... Maybe I should consider going back there, but after I make something original on Furnace.
