La Perahera, ou fête de la dent, a lieu chaque été à Kandy, capitale religieuse du Sri Lanka. Les musiciens, les danseurs, les cornac et leur éléphant viennent de tout le Sri Lanka pour dix nuits de parade autour du temple de la dent de Kandy, le sanctuaire le plus important du Sri Lanka, où est gardé une relique de Boudha. Pour avoir une bonne place permettant d'admirer le passage des danseurs et des éléphants, les festivaliers peuvent attendre plusieurs heures, assis sur le trottoir parfois depuis le matin, pendant que des vendeurs de fruits et de bonbons et quelques musiciens passent parmi eux pour les faire patienter. D'autres prient au temple, pendant que les cornac s'occupent de leur éléphant, que les musiciens accordent leurs instrument, et que les danseurs ajustent leur costumes. Chaque soir la parade fait le tour de la ville, avant de finir dans le temple de la dent, dont les portes gigantesques permettent l'entrée des éléphants. Puis la ville redevient calme, jusqu'au lendemain.

The Perahera, or festival of the tooth, held each summer in Kandy, religious capital of Sri Lanka. Musicians, dancers, mahout and elephant come from all over Sri Lanka for ten nights parade around the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, the most important shrine of Sri Lanka, where is kept a relic of Buddha. For a good place to admire the way the dancers and elephants, visitors can take several hours, sitting on the sidewalk sometimes since morning, while sellers of fruit and candy and some musicians pass among them for to wait. Others pray at the temple, while the mahouts take care of their elephant, the musicians tune their instruments, and the dancers adjust their costumes. Every evening the parade toured the city before ending up in the temple of the tooth, the gigantic doors allow the entry of elephants. Then the city becomes quiet overnight.

Multi 6-channel field recording of a Jacobs ladder also known as the (high voltage traveling arc) which is a device for producing a continuous train of large electrical sparks that rise upwards. The spark gap is formed by two wires, approximately vertical in position but gradually diverging from each other towards the top in a narrow V Shape. When high voltage is applied to the gap, a spark forms across the bottom of the wires where they are nearest each other, rapidly changing to an electric arc. The sparks can burn through thin paper and plastic and start fires, and contact with the exposed high voltage conductors can be lethal. For this recording I used a Sound Devices 744T/Mixpre-D with the Neumann RSM-191A/S kit microphone recording at the base of the transformer channels 1/2, then two DPA 4060 lav microphones channels 3/4 placed at far left and right positions beside the wire rods to capture a nice wide stereo image between the electrical arcs. The third stereo signal was from the Zoom H6 placed at the source of the the electrical sparks near the bottom of the wire rods. All files recorded at 24-bit-96khz. Free Download

there was this track, icct hedral and another tht i wrote after coming down off microdots, i was off my face walking around london and i just wanted to hear these tracks so bad and had the cassette in my pocket,the player i had just died and i just walked into a shop and bought this walkman with the last money I had, was really tweaking , they were fuckin expensive but it was sooooo worth it.. no decent food for a few weeks but sony pro walkman in the bag!

Yes Steve Reich vibes 4 sure, was very interesting meeting him a couple of years ago, he REALLY wanted to release my Pendulum array re-work which was a huge compliment on nonsuch but i never got around to sorting it out...
Had an initial super good long conversation with him in Poland,
 picked each others brains and kind of forget where we were..still got lots of things buzzing around inside my head from it..but then we said our goodbyes thinking we would probably never meet each other again but was really funny/odd because  my girlfriend and I just KEPT bumping into him, party in a polish bar, around the festival, the airport lounge, transport bus, on the plane in the arrival lounge, it got really embarrasing, by the end I was like look im fucking sick of seeing your face mate! [ jokingly ]
