Disquiet Junto Project 0708: Vocal Chords
The Assignment: Do something with layers of the sound of your voice.

Step 1: Create simple chords by layering the sound of your voice.

Step 2: Do something with those chords.

Tutte le parti non propriamente strumentali sono create usando la voce (droni, fasce etc...)
Non avendo un timbro di voce decente  (estremamente nasale), nelle parti in cui la voce risulta più nitida, ho cercato in qualche modo di mascherarla/trattarla con FX vari.

All the non-strictly instrumental parts are created using the voice (drones, pads, etc.).

Given my rather nasal tone, which lacks a pleasing timbre, I treated the more exposed vocal parts with various effects to blur, shape, or disguise their raw character.

Progetto di musica concreta, giocato (anche) sulla ripetizione ossessiva di camkpioni.
La parte strumentale, loops e droni,  è creata da Reaktor (Korrell ens.) 
Esempio paradossale di incomunicabilità in questa epoca di immediatezza, le voci registrate rappresntano quasi un grido di aiuto, perse nello spazio e nella totale anonimità..

A piece of concrete music, born (also) from the hypnotic persistence of repeating fragments.
Its instrumental  texture—loops and drones—unfolds through Reaktor (Korrell ensemble).
In an age that claims immediacy, it becomes a riddle of absence: voices suspended, neither near nor far, calling into somewhere—perhaps nowhere—until they fade into a quiet without name.

There is just one step this week. You’re now recording music under the name Dense Fog Advisory. Record a new track, appropriate to your name.

The last two songs I put on Soundcloud are dark and heavy. While I was working on those two I was also working on this one. It is quite the opposite and it’s just a short relaxing and pretty uplifting song. It is hard to come up with titles for songs that are not melancholic, dark or heavy.. I tried my best. Maybe it's a bit too much but okay.  I’m still working on my beat making but this one turned out to be just fine. It all started with a sound I have found in Reaktor (Mikro Prism to be precise) and I just had to do something it. So after some tinkering I found a good use for this sound. I combined it with another VST (Carbon 2) and from there it went pretty fast. Most of the sounds come from the Mikro Prism VST. It’s a fun VST to play around with. One of my all-time favorite VST’s (Hainbach package from Labs by Spitfire Audio) complemented it all. While I was at it I also used another sound from Labs for the voices at the end. I combined those voices with (yet) another package by Labs (Yair Elazar Glotman’s “Speculative Memories”). All in all it was another great experience with all these VST’s and will be working with them in the (near) future. The beat is made entirely with the ‘classic’ 808 sound. Albeit a bit enhanced with some Camel Crusher.

Cheer For Sanguinity

The last track on 2019’s ‘Take Everything’. Though not the last one to be remastered. 

This rework in 2025 has tweaks to get in tune finally, extra vox and some rebalancing. With a bit of ear candy and some gangster dialogue in keeping with other tracks from this period. 

The title comes from the cover art which is a nighttime shot from my balcony onto public housing in Singapore called the pinnacle. There’s a running track on the 25th floor that goes around and connects the different blocks. I’m just about level with it. From early morning before daybreak to late at night, I can see people running. Normally I am much more sedentary. 

I watch them running, being busy and getting seen whilst I’m hidden in plain sight. I like to think they’re just going round in circles getting nowhere. But they’re still getting fitter. Maybe happier and more productive. And they never notice me. 

The song is about trying to love yourself.

Very often, with this type of haiku, I have an interpretation very similar to a story by Stephen King or Dan Simmons. Where there is quiet and everything flows normally, something evil always lurks, waiting for the right moment to emerge from the darkness and claim victims.
I always have this feeling of imminent destruction, of an almost obligatory catastrophe. The same images, shot from above, hint at a reality that cannot be deciphered and make the whole thing seem like a hellish incubator.

Extensive use of samplers (eXistenZ II, Lisa, TravelLisa, etc., all Reaktor ensembles).
Towards the end, a cello appears with minimal phrasing.
