Given Up is the eighth song from autolemy's second album/novel 'Assisting Fate' - due April 2025. Having ended up separated from her family and placed in care, one of the main antagonists of the story, Laura, writes to her mother to ask for forgiveness. Unfortunately, her mother replies with the most toxic of responses.

When you’ve done everything you can do to seek forgiveness for a wrongdoing but are still rebuked, it is not wise to remain a beggar. This song is about cutting toxic ties in ones’ life and moving on.

Stomp Box Choir are a new collective formed by longtime friends and collaborators Howsie (producer) and Joe Stratton (songwriter); creative partners whose music thrives on transforming simple ideas - a beat, a hook, a lyrical spark - into fully realised visions rich with soul and depth.

While rooted in electronic music, their sound fuses traditional songwriting with modern production: melodic guitars, deep bass lines, and organic instrumentation intertwined with electronic drum arrangements and resonating synth textures. The result is a warm, emotional, genre-defying sound underpinned by a subtle, melancholic ambience.

Influences include Massive Attack, Danger Mouse, Daft Punk, Air, Maribou State, and Sault — artists and producers whose innovative approaches clearly echo in Howsie and Joe’s own creative process.

Recorded partly at a studio in Notting Hill and mostly in Howsie’s Finsbury Park home studio, the project was, and always has been, shaped by freedom and expression - to experiment, refine, and let each idea unfold naturally and without undue constraint. With more music in development, this first release marks the beginning of a journey defined by originality, emotional depth, and authenticity.

The debut track "Magnfier" features Burcu Bahar Aydin, whose rich, expressive vocals bring cultural resonance, lyrical nuance, and vibrant energy to the mix.

Ghosts of the Tsunami is the driving and intense new single from Isaac
Howlett, the charismatic singer/songwriter behind the internationally-
renowned UK synth-pop band, Empathy Test, now making waves as a solo
artist.

After three consecutive #1 singles on the German Alternative Chart (DAC) with
House of Cards, Endless Night and most recently Eggshell, which also peaked at
#13 (Germany), #15 (Sweden) and #31 (Spain) on the iTunes Alternative Chart,
Howlett continues to explore dark terrain with Ghosts of the Tsunami. Vocally, it has
the same anthemic, haunting quality as its predecessor, but here the beats and
driving bass provided by co-producer and mixer Daniel Myer (Liebknecht, Architect,
Covenant etc.) give the track a greater energy.

"Lyrically, Ghosts of the Tsunami was inspired by the 2017 non-fiction novel of the
same name, by Richard Lloyd Parry", says Howlett, "it’s about the aftermath of the
Japanese tsunami and some of the dead not knowing they were dead. The song
draws a comparison to the loss of feeling amongst the living."

Like Eggshell, Ghosts of the Tsunami already has some buzz around it, having been
performed live several times by Howlett at his solo shows earlier in 2025, but also
this September to December he is performing it with Empathy Test on their biggest
European tour to date.

A full EP, featuring the two original tracks, Eggshell and Ghosts of the Tsunami, a
“radio edit” of Eggshell, plus remixes by genCAB, Clan of Xymox and Suzi Sabotage,
will be released digitally and on CD in November. There will also be a 7” picture disc
featuring the two original tracks and artwork/photography by Bernd Schwinn.

“The Woods” is a downtempo chill-pop vibe with ambient overtones. The dream-like lyrics paint a journey of exploration and discovery of the inner world.
