The coastline was brimming with activity; from end to end the beaches were filled with thrill seekers looking for an escape from the city. As soon as the sun reared its head, swathes of people flooded these quiet towns, which had now become go to destinations during the summer months. They had everything the big cities didn't: golden sands and sparkling waters, open spaces and fresh air - everywhere you looked there were only smiling faces to be seen.

Casiopepe are a Polish duo made up of two producers who've long been part of the electronic music scene in the country. Last year saw their first release on Eltron's Dom Trojga, a perfect soundtrack for the reopening of summer, and following that we were treated to an outing on Jaki Records. Now they make their way to Pets Recordings for a batch of Euro-house inspired electronics that represents some of the pair's earliest recorded material. Alongside the two originals, which showcase their knack for melody, groove and rhythm, Euphoriac comes with a rework from Tiger & Woods and a Bonus Beat version.

Having worked for years in a duo, first as 3 Channels and now as the lauded, world-touring house outfit Catz ’n Dogz, Polish producer Voitek Taranczuk’s  project, Ketiov, is personal. It is about focusing on his own process and creative instincts — after all, Ketiov is Voitek in reverse. Here, he indulges his boundary-breaking impulses, crossing genres and experimenting with sound. Ketiov grew up  in Poland, where as a young dj  hosted parties and build his musical taste.  Few years ago moved from Berlin to Madrid where he continues his journey.  He is a resident at Cafe Berlin in Madrid and with his husband David Rigote, started the very successful LGBTQ+ party  CARBS. Releasing tracks himself and mostly on vinyl, Ketiov has repressed his 2017 “Ketiov A/B” twice due to popular demand, and received strong feedback for “Ketiov Edits 01” (Jan 2018) and “Ketiov C/D&E” (Feb 2018). “Rhythm Trainx Vol 2,” his piece de resistance featuring huge sound and only one drummer, was released on Gerd Janson’s Running Back in May 2018.
Ketiov’s innovative rhythmic play and effortless mixing of deep house, disco, techno and 90s house have landed him  Dj mixes with the infamous Honey Soundsystem, Buttons, Is Burning and dance sets at clubs all around Europe including Panorama Bar and the world at large. Ketiov believes in order to be a great collaborator, one needs to pursue their own projects alongside. Only time will tell how Voitek’s addictive sound will evolve on his own and in his powerful collaborations.

Five years deep into the game, all nine lives fully intact: Utrechtian feral feline Larry De Kat prowls his way onto Pets… And we really don’t need to tell you how purrrrfectly apt this debut union is. 
Fresh from launching his own Katnip imprint (and putting the final touches on a hush-hush disco edit series), Pets have managed to prise four of his finest, broadest creations from his creative claws. Each one floor-bound, each one backing up the hype he’s enjoyed from the likes of Axel Boman, Mark E and Laurent Garnier, each one making us feel like cats who got the creamiest of creams… 
‘I Know You Can Hear Me’ takes the lead on a more direct tip that you might expect from De Kat. Big pumps wrapped in a fine vibe balance of Detroit and Parisian house textures, but done with Larry’s signature dubby, jacking style, it’s the perfect paws-sitive statement of intent. 
Slinking deeper into the EP, ‘Naakte Groove’ lives up to its nude name with a lean-but-warm bass riff that purrs with finesse around a straight-up strutting drum arrangement. So much fun in such a tight, detailed groove, you’ll want this on loop forever. 
‘Amlou’ stalks up behind with dusty, thumping charm. Rolling and scratching like it was 20 years younger, there’s an innate physicality in the drums that snaps you out when the big disco hook rides in from nowhere. 
Finally we hit ‘She Doesn’t’. The dubbiest groove of the set, all eyes are on that bulbous sub, rippling synths and precision tuned snare shot. Hypnotic, heavy, unhurried and heads down… These sounds are fur real. Like all the best stray cats, expect Larry to return to Pets as and when he pleases.

Step Recordings are dropping 'Les Mondes Des Images', Metropolitan Soul Museum's second EP on the label.

In 2019 MSM gave Step 6 tracks for their 'Travellers' EP, receiving support from a variety of artists like Honey Soundsystem, DJ Sling, Photonz, Ciel, Jad & to name a few. After nearly two years and releases on labels like Public Release, Yellow Island and Bosconi Records, the London-based duo return on Pets' sub-label with 5 tracks, produced before and during the first 2020 global lockdown.

'Les Mondes Des Images' is a collection of some of MSM's deepest tracks, with a strong connection between sounds and visuals: each track is in fact named after some of their favourite paintings, aiming at fusing the senses. The EP opens up with the stomping and moody 'Terre Ecosaisse', a firey red cut; following is the title Track; a 4/4 cut driven by a melancholic pad and stabs melody, full of hopes and green. 'Sping Crown' is a minimalistic gem, surrounded by a very blue mood. The EP closes with 'The Riot', a bright broken beat track, driven by a wonderful crescendo into a sunny yellow vibe. Finally 'N.15', a bonus ambient track, where light arpeggios are blended with a soothing piano melody. Like a grey rainy day.
