Last spotted on Pets playing cowboy and firing serious shots with his 'Lone Ranger' release, Brazilian maestro Renato Cohen makes a welcome return to Catz 'n Dogz imprint. And things are getting hot.

'Meltin' is pure, high grade, uncut funk. Bumping and thumping at an up-tempo 127, the whole groove is comprised by just a handful of elements, but the relationship between each ingredient and the space, brings such an interplanetary fatness you feel like you're driving inside the track.

Next up is the unmissable 'Drum Solo'. One of those golden tribal tracks that mixes in so well with absolutely any record you want to play it with and will get the whole crowd locked and fully focused. Would you expect anything less from the man who once famously gave us 'Sixteen Billion Drum Kicks'?

Last but definitely not least in this steamy, ultrafunkula menage-et-trios is 'Space Rockers'. Slinky, sleazy and well oiled, there's a mischievous filtered disco touch to this, but done with grittier 2021 cohones. Rocking? You will be.

DGTL Records marks its fifth anniversary in style with ‘5YRS of DGTL Records’. The 14-track long player is released on April 16th as a 4x 12” vinyl set and drops digitally across 4 separate EP releases between February 18 and April 1, of which the first one features Mano Le Tough, Jimi Jules, Coloray and Tjade.
 
5YRS of DGTL Records is a perfect reflection of not just of the label itself but also its global event patron: headliners sitting equally alongside local talent and up-and-coming acts. Over the past five years, DGTL Records has grown into its own as a fully-fledged musical arm of the overall DGTL musical experience.

Mano Le Tough opens the release with the serene and heartfelt ‘Either 
Way’. He layers lighthearted guitar tabs, mesmerizing vocals and springy synths on each other to create a sublime affair that makes you reminisce and smile about the good things in life. Jimi Jules follows with ‘Anna Bolika’, a hypnotic and progressive track. It draws you in with constant chord progressions and mesmerizing sound 
design. Vocals are echoed cautiously to add to its ominous and eerie 
atmosphere. 

‘Polarity’ is Coloray's addition to the release. It features warm and granular synths, leaning towards the 8 bit retro synthwave sound, while rolling out a breakbeat drum pattern and heavy hitting kicks, with which he keeps the piece energetic and with a driving force throughout. Closing this first of four EP’s, Tjade presents ‘De Halve Maan’, a powerful tune for big rooms and big energy. Analogue synths, progressive bass lines and layers of melodic keys create a sense of revival and resurgence, with a hint of trance.

The twenty seventh release on EI8HT finds the label head honcho Andres Campo return to the roost with the ‘Slam’ EP, a bustling and solid four tracker that’s laced with jackin’ and direct techno chops.

Alongside Bristolian behemoth Eats Everything, Campo has been steering their EI8HT imprint to great things over the last three years, with exceptional releases from the likes of Truncate, Gaston Zani, Black Girl / White Girl, Carlo Lio and many more. The ‘Slam’ EP marks Campo’s second release for the label, and it doesn’t disappoint.

Bolting out of the starting block, title track ‘Slam’ pounds hard and funky, as Campo delivers a banger that’s demonstrative of the techno sounds that he plies in his bombastic DJ sets around the globe. Metallic beats and cheeky vocal samples, all delivered with pace and intensity, form the basis for the accompanying tracks here, with the old skool rave motifs of ‘Horn’ acting as the finale for this flawless release from the boss man.

In just a few years, Josh Butler has firmly established himself as one of house music's most revered talents. 2016 saw the launch of his label Origins, with Josh welcoming the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Todd Terry, Robert Owens and Santé to the imprint since, scoring his second Beatport #1 through his and Bontan’s stand out ‘Call You Back’ in early 2017. Add to the equation EPs on Kaoz Theory, Rejected and Defected, collaborations with Kerri Chandler and Darius Syrossian, and remixes for industry heavyweights Carl Cox and Joris Voorn, and it’s clear to see that Josh Butler is only just getting started. Hotly tipped newcomer, Eskuche, debuts on Hannah Wants’ Etiquette this month with his brand new ‘Passion’ EP. The US based DJ and producer has recently risen up the Tech House ranks after a string of successful releases on lauded labels; Relief, Hot Creations, Repopulate Mars, Sola and elrow which have won him the respect of Pete Tong, Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and MK who have all supported his music in their sets. ‘Passion’ replicates Eskuche’s renowned sound; hard hitting rhythmic drums, clever kicks, signature grooves and a heavy bass line. ‘Won’t Stop’ rounds off the EP; a deep, rumbling groove with heavyweight house percussion and a pulsating bass line which underpins a hypnotic, dubbed out vocal lick. The ‘Passion’ EP has become a staple in Hannah’s DJ sets and it’s clear to see why; these tracks are two that were made for the dancefloor, make sure you turn them up LOUD!
