Residents at Tokyo's legendary Womb, the duo has notched up a string of quality releases on labels including Tronic, Terminal M and Octopus over the years, reinforcing themselves as one of Japan's most treasured techno acts.

Drunken Kong have a distinct sound signature, as dreamy melodic and vocal elements rub shoulders with the pair's trademark groove-orientated rhythms to create hypnotic techno outings that span the breadth of the genre, from heads down rollers to peak-time pleasure.

Jeton is celebrating a milestone: 15 years and 200 releases. The label, founded by Ferhat Albayrak in 2009 and based in Istanbul, reflects the meeting culture of East and West in Istanbul for centuries. For years, it has been a base for upcoming new breeds, as well as a respected regular place for artists. From the dawn of time, it has been only Techno, with at least one release per month for 15 years in a row. Now, Jeton has become a place that few imprints can reach, with a monument of sustainability for years. JET200 is an 8-track celebration from our best artists, colleagues, and friends, reflecting our approach to the future. Jeton has also become the biggest Techno promoter in its region, by serving the best possible music and atmosphere available globally. The 15-year celebrations will be started in Istanbul end of summer with great events. We would like to thank all our fans, artists, collaborators, co-partners, and contributors for being with us for all 15 years. Without you, this journey could not have happened. Tokyo’s Risa Taniguchi returns to Chris Liebing’s CLR with the ‘So Loud’ EP. The two-track EP follows up a collaborative EP with Black Asteroid on the label in 2022.

Risa Taniguchi’s title track to her ‘So Loud’ EP on CLR is a brilliantly alluring, stripped-back workout built on thudding kicks. The twitchy synth motifs bring a foreboding atmosphere next to raw percussion, all elements creeping in intensity. The electrifying 'Emission' brings more nervous energy with fizzing synths layering in rich texture over clacking hits and rolling bass. There's an unsettling sense of cosmic turbulence throughout this most stylish of tracks, making for a powerful and essential pair of cuts to lock the crowds in for a late-night trip.

At the forefront of the Japanese techno scene, Risa Taniguchi’s music on labels like Second State and Kneaded Pains mixes dark, lo-fi sound, distorted textures, and slow-burning energy that always hits its mark. She first arrived on Chris Liebing’s CLR in 2022 alongside Black Asteroid with the ‘Acid Flesh’ EP, which won the support of artists like Luke Slater, Blawan, Amelie Lens, and many more - once again excelling with her solo ‘So Loud’ EP this May.

Drumcode favourite Harvey McKay returns to the label with a darker new sound.

The Glaswegian has been a regular contributor over the years, highlighted by the memorable ‘The Illusion of Control’ EP in 2014 and his newer work with brother Ryan under the Alias moniker. Earlier this year Drumcode released the duo’s ‘Pentatonic’ EP and featured a mix on Adam Beyer’s radio, which included ‘Black Dolphin’, kickstarting the hype on the track.

Named after the infamous Russian prison, the title track is dark, tough, deeply textured brooding affair, with a menacing touch than runs through its core. McKay then brings in a huge synth line and changes up the dynamic of the track, giving it a powerful and driving feel. ‘Retox’ is a dark and twisted heavy-hitting cut, driven by aggressive drums and bassline, while a hypnotic synth line sustains a sense of tension throughout the six-minute track. Concluding the package is ‘Cover Up’, a fantastic stripped back exploration into dark atmospheric techno territory that’s tailor made for the winter warehouse raving season.

The tenth instalment of Clergy sees host to the second collaborative project between lifelong friends Jorden Hodgetts and Sam Coates (Cleric and Setaoc Mass) split over two discs. The first disc presents three driving rhythmic orientated tools, 'Odyssey', 'Isolation' and 'Centre of the Cyclone', which are sculpted flawlessly for the dance-floor. You can see a continuous theme surrounding the release, the exploration of escapism is perfectly introduced by a foreboding message courtesy of John C. Lily: "Be in the present..."

The second disc progresses as a means to go on, with the sonic emphasis moving more towards tone and melody. The sweeping pads of 'Madame Butterfly' and the sinister strings of 'subconscious life' give the songs a feeling of satisfying unease, while the electro-twinged melody of '188' evokes emotion from start to finish. Last on the EP is 'Exploration X', an ambient voyage which beautifully rounds off the record. CRG010 will also end the second series of releases on Clergy, starting a new look and bringing in a new photographer for the next series.

Killer return for Soma's French wonder kid. 

The much lauded Charles Fenckler makes a triumphant return to Soma Records with the Distant Light EP. Charles ramps up the pace with 3 tough, acid Techno tracks - firmly aimed at dance floor destruction. 

Title track Distant Light opens with a thunderously distorted 909 kick drum and wastes no time in launching into a flurry of intense percussive elements, amen style samples and alarm like synth hooks. Texture 3.0003 has a decidedly deeper feel to it yet keeps the momentum going as Fenckler works in the acid to great effect. Tension closes out EP in furious fashion as trippy vocals sit atop a crunching drum workout with Fenckler keeping it relentless with his full on, raw energy.
