This spring Zen Feedbacker and Snick Snack Music are proud 
to present, for the first time the recorded works of legendary Norwegian electronic pioneers Sadomaoistan. 

From the depths of Tromsø’s post-punk underground to the neon-drenched euphoria of the early rave scene—Sadomaoistan’s story is one of reinvention, queer rebellion, and raw 
artistic energy. Now, for the first time, their recorded works are available in a definitive collection that charts their evolution from industrial provocateurs to trailblazers of the Norwegian electronic movement, remastered by Lasse Marhaug. 

To celebrate the event Sadomaoistan founder Halvard Haldorsen, Zen Feedbacker and Snick Snack have invited friends and family to remix the original material, resulting in a flurry of activity and contributions from old Norwegian masters like Biosphere, Alexander Rishaug and Tore Honore Bøe. 

American queer, avant-house and electronica producer The Soft Pink Truth and London’s finest Dale Cornish, are putting an international touch to the series of remixes. Key players in current Norwegian club scene, like Øyvind Morken, Helene Rickhard and many more have also paid their remixing tributes to Sadomaoistan’s legacy. 

The first volume of remixes will be released on Snick Snack Music May 30. 
It includes mixes by Snick Snack’s own Trulz&Robin as their techno alias KSMISK, Ost&Kjex, The electro soul of Robomatic, Oslo extraordinaire Øyvind Morken, Swedish disco producer Kuddsnack and Norwegian ‘90s scenester Christian Rot.

Retroskopi and Terror Incognita out digitally on Snick Snack Music and as 2xLP on Zen Feedbacker on June 20.

On his latest EP, Øyvind Morken continuous his quest for the eternal quirky dancefloor bomb, and comes up with no less than three analog gems, full of old school swing, soul & dirt. 

Over the years Øyvind has developed his own unique take on the dance formula, turning inspiration from the innocent and musically open days of the early and mid-nineties into something very singular. Take the best of Bleep techno, Fragile Records, Kenny Larkin’s early productions, The Black Dog and the mother ship, Detroit techno. Mix it with a solid dose of the here and now, a handful of grit, and you start to reach something that resembles Morken’s sound. 

About the Release: 
Morning Privilege (Sunrise Mix) is a jacking house monster, with those rims and claps we love and an insane bassline! And please do try it! It surely is a Morning Privilege! Tittle track “Don’t techno for an answer” is deep and raw, soulful techno with hypnotizing bleep melodies. A pure dancefloor workout made with machines, not computers. And with a huge loving nod to the Motor City! Rounding off the EP is “Frustration” an angry, old school, driving techno number with echoes of Reese.

Released digitally as two albums— Terror Incognita, covering their industrial and post-punk period (1985–1989), and Retroskopi, a carefully reconstructed version of their elusive 1997 album—this collection also features an extensive remix series by key players in Norway’s electronic and club scene. For vinyl enthusiasts, a deluxe gatefold 2xLP edition ensures this lost chapter of Norwegian music history is given the physical release it deserves.
