Dementia is an increasingly common brain disease, I see it more and more in my immediate environment.  Especially in the elderly, but also in younger people.  The disease is irreversible and varies from person to person.  What is common is that those people develop a kind of pattern.  What they hold on to.  Asking the same questions every time or something like that.  The longer you have it, the more you lose.  Actually, you don't want to die like that.  On the other hand, you don't realize it yourself.  You fade from the present world.  You are no longer who you were.  And takes on a completely different character.

The sky looked down on him with yellow contempt
the fog seemed to move backward and follow him through the downtown streets
it was Christmas time and men were erecting a giant tree full of lights
an electric eel slithered into the streets and into the sewer 
as shoppers made there way into a 5 star hotel
all he could think about was his broken belt
it was 7:54 on the downtown street

I stood on the bridge overlooking the river
I could see the sun reflecting a million tiny pearls of light off the water
as the river flowed past it appeared they stood still
I slowly made my way across to the opposite shore

I saw, the old light tower there

Feeling of, the passing of his faded eyes..
