싱어송 라이터 김동영 이번엔 재즈를 통해 팬들에게 다가왔다.  ‘그댄 나의 크리스마스(El Amor)’ 음원은 12월 10일 국내와 해외 유명 음악 사이트를 통해 일제히 발매된다. 10월 ‘라이딩’ 디지털 싱글을 통해 신인 같지 않은 가창력과 무대 매너를 보여주며 즐겁고 기분 좋은 음악을 들려주며 재밌고 중독성 있는 노래와 뮤직비디오로 각종 SNS와 인터넷을 통해 많은 팬을 확보해 두었던 가수이다. 10월 디지털 싱글 ‘라이딩’을 통해 우리에게 처음 다가왔던 그는 이번엔 재즈발라드 ‘그댄 나의 크리스마스(El Amor)’를 통해 깊어가는 겨울밤 우리에게 로맨틱함을 선물한다. ‘뱅쇼’라는 Jazz 퀄텟을 통해 유명 Jazz클럽들 에서 정기 공연을 하며 내공을 쌓아온 그는 곡의 작사와 작곡을 도맡아 했으며 2012년 미국 본사 Phaeton trumpet endorser 에 등재되며 현 류복성 Latin jazz all star와 신관웅 jazz big band의 수석단원이자 Kim brothers의 리더로서 명실상부 대한민국 최고의 Jazz trumpeter 김예중과의 콜라보레이션도 이루어 졌다. 한음 한음 절제되며 로맨틱하고 감미롭게 표현된 그의 연주는 마치 분위기 좋은 뉴욕의 재즈 클럽에 와 있는 듯 한 착각을 일으키며 하얀 흰눈이 눈앞에 소복히 쌓여가는 것을 상상하게 끔 한다. 한국의 마이클 부블레라 불리워 지는 김동영의 목소리와 김예중과의 콜라보레이션은  첫 소절을 듣는 순간 온몸의 긴장이 풀리며 편안한 쇼파에 앉아 이 겨울의 추위를 녹여주며 사랑을 하고 싶게 끔 하는 마법이 있는 노래이다. 뱅쇼를 통해 여러 클럽에서 활동해 왔던 김동영은 이번 앨범을 통해 다시 한번 재즈로의 복귀를 보여주며 벌써부터 많은 팬들로부터 앨범 선 주문이 이루어 지는 것으로 알려지고 있다. '그댄나의크리스마스'의 첫 소절을 듣는 순간 귀를 의심하며 중저음의 매력적인 보이스에 섬세함이 더해져 듣는이로 하여금 마치 흰눈이 내리는 겨울밤 사랑하는 연인과 함께 하고 있다는 착각을 불러 일으킨다. 흰 눈이 내리는 겨울밤 사랑하는 사람에게 고백을 하는 내용의 노래로 ‘사랑해 난 말하고 있죠’ 라고 하는 부분에서는 마치 내가 주인공이 된 듯 한 기분을 주며 사랑하는 사람과 함께 듣고 싶고 불러주고 싶은 노래이다. 재즈적인 멜로디와 화성진행 그리고 악기편성에 담백하면서도 진실된 가삿 말과 중저음의 매력적인 목소리로 달콤하게 표현한 느낌들은 고급스러운 팝송을 듣는 듯 한 착각을 일으키기에 충분하다. 한국에서는 거의 시도치 않은 건반과 트럼펫과의 편곡으로 이루어진 ‘You are my christmas’는 ‘그댄 나의 크리스마스’의 영어 버전이며 보컬의 절제되며 자유롭게 말하듯이  표현된 노래는 한편의 멋있는 뮤지컬을 보는 듯하며 섬세하게 들려지는 김예중의 트럼펫은 더욱 집중할 수 밖에 없는 상황들을 연출하고 있다. 그래미 4회 수상에 빛나는 마이클 부블레의 음색을 떠올리게 하며 그의 달콤함과 로맨틱함을 빼다 닮았다. ‘그댄 나의 크리스마스(El Amor)’ 의 뮤직비디오는 ‘라이딩’ 디지털 싱글의 뮤직비디오로 화제를 모았던 감독 장영진 씨가 메가폰을 잡았으며 한 겨울 따뜻함으로 우리의 시린 가슴을 녹여줄 내용으로 구성 되었다. 감독의 인터뷰에서 ‘올 겨울 따뜻한 감동과 사랑이 느껴 질 수 있는 뮤직비디오를 만들 생각이다’라고 한 그녀는 리얼리티를 더하기 위하여 배우들과 실제 일반인들을 다수 섭외하여 뮤직비디오를 촬영하였다고 했다. 촬영 내내 감동의 눈물과 박수가 쏟아 졌다는 것이 후문으로 들려왔다. 정기적으로 앨범을 내고 있는 싱어송 라이터 김동영 인터뷰에서 ‘앞으로도 가슴 따뜻해지며 사람들에게 감동과 웃음을 줄 수 있는 음악들로 준비하겠습니다.’ 라고 했던 그는 그의 말대로 정말 가슴 따뜻해지는 순간이며 그의 팬으로써 앞으로의 그의 행보가 궁금한 순간이었다.
