With a deep love for music that makes you move, Spanky J decided to try his hand in the DJ scene. He quickly moved on from the bedroom to being a favourite accompaniment to out-of town acts, holding down DJ residencies with Funkin’ Your Area Productions and later Footwerk Events, playing festivals such as Bushwacked 2014 along the way. Spanky J is always growing, and is increasingly exploring the depths of the studio by creating original works, remixes, and re-edits. Behind the decks it feels like he might as well be in the crowd as he moves with every beat holding back his excitement enough to lay down track after track of good times. While his sets find home in four to the floor he doesn’t shy away from anything that grooves, bounces, breaks, or shakes, and one thing is certain: he will ALWAYS FUNK!
