Arguing about cultural reconstruction is something we do not leave in the comment areas, we prefer to deal with it in our studios. So did MAUGLI with his genre-bending "Alba" release of the year 2021. Six ambitious musicians were hired to reconsider the organic sounds of "Alba" from yet another background.

ॐ WESAK - Also known as "Buddha Day", it commemorates the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha, Siddhattha Gotama. Buddhist scriptures state that each of these significant events occurred on the full moon of the Indian lunar month of Vesakha.
The theme for our May 2017 Wesak Full Moon is Compassion & Kindness – awakening to something greater than you through your Heart. It is also the Full Moon of Good Fortune and a new cycle of expansive creativity and juicy self-expression. It is a time to play more, let your inner-child run wild and with a carefree air of Grace follow the passions of the Heart.

WESAK - "Buddha Day" [original mix]

For this our sixth Botanas single series we have the pleasure to present two stunning original tracks and one beautiful edit from Canadian producer Oonga (who you might have spotted on our Mare Insularum compilation). Oonga is a DJ/producer from Montreal who works with Stonetree Records. 

Opener El Caracol is one of the most personal tracks the artist has ever made. It is based on a poem written by Eli´s (Oonga) dad and dedicated to him. It was written after the two of them had a really deep conversation about hidden pain and then months later his dad showed him the words, and he was extremely moved and so created this beautiful track. 

This inspiration came at the same time as Oonga's exposure to the neo-folkloric slow cumbia tech sound while travelling. He put the two together and this special Botanas was born. His dear friend Ana adapted the words into Spanish and sang the melodies (as well as doing the art). 

Oonga´s music captured our ears right away and these three tracks are the perfect soundtrack to the end of the summer for those of us in the norther hemisphere or to welcome the end of the Winter and brighter times for all those down south!
