Matt Abstrax has been a major player in the Australian house, techhouse & techno scene for many years with his party rocking DJ sets and, and 
 as the creator of party brand TechPhonics. He has brought to Adelaide and played alongside a massive array of acts over the past 8 years, including Derrick May, Robert Hood, Octave One, Luke Slater, Ben Klock, James Zabiela, Hybrid, Jay Lumen, Funkagenda, Ian Pooley, Patrick Topping, Oliver $, Audiojack, Nick Curly, Pleasurekraft, & many more. Matt has played major Australian music festivals including Stereosonic, Summadayze, Future Music Festival, Play Festival, Re:connect and Winter Solstice, sharing stages with Disclosure, Gorgon City, Sven Vath, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Maya Jane Coles and more. Matt hosted a weekly 2 hr online mix show for 5 years on web-station Soundpond.net. After travelling through Asia he is now based in Ho Chi Minh City and plays regularly across Vietnam and Cambodia. Nicholas Costello is an Australian solo artist based in Melbourne. He has been writing songs for almost 10 years. Described as having a natural flair for crafting melodies and writing lyrics, his songs display a formidable emotional and intellectual depth. An independent artist, whose songs tend to be borne out of personal experience, and are introspective in nature; but are nonetheless stylistically and sonically diverse and nuanced. 

Costello is deeply influenced by the idols of his youth – REM, Mazzy Star, Nick Drake, Mark Kozelek and Jeff Buckley to name a few. But also draws on more contemporary musicians such as Phosphorescent, Beach House, Father John Misty and Hosier. All these influence culminate to produce what is a highly stylised, dreamy folk-rock atmosphere coupled with emotional intensity in his lyricism. 

This flair for both lyricism and melody has been compared to that of City and Colour, while the versatility and the evocative nature of his voice has been likened to that of Damien Rice. Costello’s deep and full voice has also been described as like a slightly lighter version of something by Iron and Wine or The National. 

The singer-songwriter started as a front man for a few local Melbournian bands (Curtainfire, Siblings), but in 2011 he decided to go it alone, as a vision for a solo project crystallised in his mind. In 2014 he released his debut EP ‘Definite Blue’, a sparse raw four tracker, that was well received critically. In 2015 he released his follow up EP ‘Glow’, a five-track EP that built on themes of his previous effort, creating a bolder and more elaborate sonic framework for his music. 

Costello’s music has been described as a ‘folk-rock dream’, which seems to perfectly summarise his stylistic mix of Alternative Folk-Rock and Dream Pop. 

Most recently, Nicholas has been busy in the studio and is expected to release a new EP in 2016.

Music moves me like oxygen keeps us alive. I first invested in a pair of 1210's and a Gemini mixer about 17 years ago to fuel my desire to express myself musically having never learnt a musical instrument. I started buying house music, at the time predominately the kind they called "handbag house" that all the girls would dance to and this quickly progressed to the more clubby sounds of the time. My tastes progressed to the trancey, progressive through to rave. I played at parties and social get togethers to show off my music to friends and whoever would listen. My best friend who was in a band started performing out in pubs and bars so along the way i fell into playing sets in and around his band but these took on a funk/acid jazz/soul/big beat/deep house vibe which was also a big influence. As drum and bass was emerging from the jungle i found my collection broadening still to accomdate the original amen breaks of jungle through to the liquid sounds of the new drum and bass. I frequented a club called Silverfish and went on to drop my first drum and bass set there. 
Since then i have moved onto the deaded comercial residency for money and regular playing time when trying to juggle a work life. My tastes have continually developed and now freely plays around with Jackin house, progressive and electro house with some seasoning of breaks and dubstep for flavour. For me it has always been about the music and the people who connect with it and the journey i take them on. Labels that have resinated with me are Subliminal Records, Defected Records and Strictly Rythm.  The DJ's whom have inspired me are Erick Morillo, Groove Terminator and Fatboy Slim whos musical selection and skill with a crowd have never ceased to amaze.

Ahimsa (also known as Ahimsa:DeepSense) crafts a unique fusion of deep techno, deep house, glitch electronica, and tribal-inspired sounds. A former label DJ for Dakini Records in Japan, Ahimsa has cultivated his expertise through years of studying and teaching music production in both Australia and Japan. From me -  I do like the quite times, and revel in the soft sounds of belly fusion and indo-beats. Im also a lover of deep and minimal techno, spacey undertones to simple but well tuned beats. Im creating a fusion of ethno sounds, techy glitchy bits and what not. basically im into Bellydance and Ethno fusion. I make something in the middle of chill out and techno/progressive, but its anything goes as long as it has a hook and has an emotion hiding inside there. At low volume my tracks sound like chillout but can be worked into a dancefloor quite well to with a good system. Whatever. Have a listen and see if you like.
