AKB (Anna-Karin Berglund) goes solo and makes a musical U-turn with her debut EP ‘Söndagsbarn’. The last 10 years, AKB has been touring the world with bands Twiggy Frostbite and The Deer Tracks, but now she has replaced the pop music with spacey ambient. AKBs hometown Gävle city has for decades had a very strong electronica and sound art scene, something that obviously inspires the entire city's musical life, even AKB, so the step into the cosmic sound world is a natural extension of her music career. The four tracks on ‘Söndagsbarn’ has clear influences from the 70’s/80’s ambient artists, such as Klaus Schulze and Michael Stearns, but also more modern references like Markus Guentner and Loscil.

The Door

The song “Sunken Skeleton” is the original title of the last song from my latest EP “The Constellation of a Pond”. But after a lot of reworking it got a slightly less dark title and was released under the name “The Moon’s reflection later that night”. So this is an earlier version of the same material, more drone and more, well, sunken.
Alpha Mound is the solo project of Joakim Westlund. Starting out with acoustic songs sprinkled with electronics the musical focused have since shifted to primarily electronic music in the form of ambient and soft-techno. Find more at:www.alphamound.com

Field Records welcomes Acronym for a new album, Malm, which follows various ambient laced deep techno EPs and LPs on Semantica and Northern Electronics. The 10-track beatless affair pays homage to one of his lost friends who was torn between his dualistic nature. In a state of paranoia, stress and inner conflict, even brief moments of panic can be fatal for yourself and the people around you. 

This album is born from those ideas and was recorded and arranged between 2015 and 2017 in different parts of the world using various analog and digital synthesizers and effects. Informed by grief and sorrow, the album evolved through a number of different forms and finally comprises three acts; the first two showcase the artist’s take on the mental and physical circumstances during the events that took place on the 4th of January 2016 in Malmi, Helsinki, and the final act presents his viewpoint after that date. 

The Swedish artist offers absorbing and meditative passages of ambience and sombre atmosphere across all pieces here. Long, tailed pads gently come and go, occasional percussive sounds get sprinkled about and bleak keys bring real tenderness. It's an escapist listen that ranges from oppressive and heavy to more subtly uplifting and is one of the most coherent and cohesive albums you could wish to hear.

Acronym - Paranoia

Started as an experiment in Ableton Live with midi-effects that creates random outcomes from a single note. The notes are then processed with threshold values stopping some and letting others pass through. The remaining notes are then harmonically transposed to confirm to a set scale. The randomness has then been edited to a degree that they no longer appear random. Other instruments has since then been added.
