I wrote this song a few years ago.

And this time I re-recorded all of my guitar and keyboard plays and I added some beats and synth sound as an arrangement. I found the synth sound like “stormy wind” that reminds me of one scene of a war cinema where a white bird was flying away over the soldiers’ heads in the thunder storm . That’s the inspiration of this arrangement. I’ll be happy if you listen and let me know how you feel!

IT'S OK TO CRY

This is a very youthful song (1980), a fabulous love story between the wind and the moon (almost a children's song, in essence). The melody has never changed, despite the many versions I have produced over the years. This is the latest, and from a few years ago; recording's quality is not professional, voices are often misaligned, but I don't want redo from the start, then only added vocal samples to improve a little on the too sparse arrangement that was there.

ENGLISH LYRICS

He had velvet eyes
and a cardboard backpack
and a mask found
in the eye of the storm
his hat was yellowed
his lips a little faded
but like a flower in her buttonhole
he placed her among the favourites

His hundred years she carried them
without the help of a cane
with the regret of a true love
that was fled away on a kite
and just as the day was ending
and in the shadows he dreamt of the past
he heard a voice dancing around
to his thoughts and was awakened
He looked for the light that danced above
Then he saw her and was dazzled

From a cloud of tar
she had leaned out to gaze
the wonders of her realm

he for an hour stood beside her
and she finally surrendered to him

like a thief from his prison

and the fear or melancholy
of having to say goodbye again
and the sadness or melancholy
of feeling hurt again

And he was wounded in his pride
When he saw her sunset
He thought that everything was a big hoax
And he had to put up with it
so he resumed his way
with that sea mask
the next evening he did not expect
to see her return

and he thought it was just
a seasonal joke
or a dummy in the fog
after a shower of soap
but it is said that she was beautiful
maybe because she was in love
And now that the wind has risen
she still hasn't changed

This a song about taking hits and wondering if things will ever get better. I had frustrating fun while making this song. I composed and recorded directly into Logic for the first time  and my old brain had trouble adapting to it.  I still mixed it with Reaper because I've been using it for several dog years and some cat years as well.  I ended up changing the drum track because sometimes songs need big drums and the first one ended up having too much reverb and sat in the back of the mix.

I imagine I have a piano on the beach. I hear the sound of the sea, sit down at the piano and play along.

This is the draft of a score for a "Ciné-concert" that was unfortunately cancelled due to the "lack of preparation time" of the musicians involved. A score that was pleasant to compose despite this.
