The Ensemble Alternance is founded in 1983 by the flutist Jean-Luc Menet. This modulable group of soloists, goals include developing, integrating and exploiting the chock of temporal passages as well as cultural and new instrumental rotations in the vast expanse of music of our time. And then to confront these with works from the distant and near past. Instrumental gestures are thereby renewed and new horizons opened.
Consequently, priority is given to premiering works by true creators in major musical places. Such a new way of envisio- ning music enables us to hear or re-hear enlightened works by the likes of Boulez, Cage, Donatoni, Ligeti, Crumb, Scelsi, de Pablo, Huber or to discover new works by striking young composers such as Hersant, Mantovani, Schœller, Solbiati, Pesson, Lanza, Pauset, Maintz, Cendo, Andre..., with recordings internationally acclaimed.

Philippe Boix-Vives, a French composer based in Sweden/Skåne draws from a diverse range of global influences Incorporating elements from jazz, rock, electronic, classical, IDM, and more crafting immersive music spanning feature films, tv series, docs, theatre, and dance. He's presently focused on concert music, developing compositions for various ensembles and upcoming album releases.
