De-modulation (as I call it) is an approach, developed throughout years - it is simply cleaner and faster to finish music this way, an extra space for psychodelic manoeuvre appears itself during the process, which is a good sign always. It evolves radically during a live show in the club though, but on the record the tracks are concepted originally as an acoustic installation. What I enjoyed most is the play with timing and drops, breaks and moments without the 'kick drum', - that is something I have learned on the belfry as a bell-ringer, controlling many tons of metal and massive sound options: the beauty of unloading and the power of concentration.

GABD012 sees Viikatory join the Gimme A Break roster with a 6-track EP of cosmic electro. Hailing from Minsk, Belarus, Viikatory began producing in 2019 and absorbed production techniques at a fierce pace. Classical training from a young age adds a harmonic side to her high-momentum tracks. Viikatory has previously released on Warning, Mana Ambulance, International Chrome, Lap Records, Mutual Pleasure and also has a forthcoming release with Juicy Gang Records. For GABD012, Viikatory has fused her signature style of gritty electro with breakbeats and trance-inspired elements to produce a collection of compositions which transport listeners into the stratosphere and rave alike.

The EP opens with ‘Got My 2nd Juice’ an extra-terrestrial, amphibious production which fuses celestial bleeps with a creeping bassline, transitioning to a steady four-by-four rhythm in the track’s latter half. “05” follows with a stunning cascade of 808 percussion, shimmering synths and bubbling bassline arpeggios. “Transmission” leans into Viikatory’s trance inspirations while maintaining the EP’s firm foundation upon dark and sinister electro. “Break Point” and “To The Future” showcase Viikatory’s impressive drum programming and breakbeat manipulation. Finally, Hermeth delivers a high-octane remix of “Got My 2nd Juice” to round off GABD012.

She had boundless amounts of energy, time out simply wasn't in her vocabulary. In her opinion any moment spent doing nothing was a waste of time; she'd sleep when she's dead...

Vino connoisseur and good food appreciator Jon Beige met Records With Attitude co-boss Mouloud whilst chowing down at Le Cave in Paris' 10th District. We know, it sounds like the beginning of a beautiful love story. As the wine flowed, the pair got into chatting about music and the idea for the two tracks on Jon's newest outing Gatorade were conceived. There's a distinct nod to leftfield UK club rhythms which, in contrast to his previous releases for Global Warming which have balanced sonics for the home and the club, are both custom made for the dance floor.

Utilizing her experience of early years playing in garage bands and the experience as an in-demand DJ, Errortica comes with a fresh and original approach for production on Sweat and Get Down. Break-beat, balearic, jersey and bass music, Sasha denies genre borders, and incorporates what she plays out into her own new music world. Calligraphic sampling, re-sampling, vocal recording and processing via guitar FX pedals, heavy drum programming, - the creative flow here has been also very sweaty, and so is the final result. In her own words, "a real party is a sweaty party!" ...we can only agree!

Renowned German DJ and producer ​Boris Brejcha has unveiled his hotly anticipated new album ​Space Diver,​ out​ 24th January​ via ​Ultra Music​.

Exclusive: Christian Löffler - Bergen (Roman Flügel Remix)

It's only been March when Christian Löffler released his album Lys, but these days it feels like eternity. Over the course of the past months some of the electronic music scene's most prolific producers took on remix duties for Löffler's 'home studio album'. Among them were Hior, Nathan Fake, Lawrence Guy and Roman Flügel. The latter was asked to sprinkle his magic on Christian's track Bergen and the Berlin-based artist did not need no second invitation for that. Roman's approach to Bergen was it to merge the best of both artists' worlds and not to turn the track into something totally new or different. The result is a speeded up version with carefully implemented textures from Roman's analog synthesizers and 70's drum machines, which smoothly go with Christian's tender, fine and delicate compositions and portray a colorful union of two scene key-figures and their importance for the development of music. Roman Flügel's Bergen sounds like an out-balanced piece of music that unfolds its natural beauty with every sound added with every further beat down the bass line. A track so nostalgic and hopeful it could serve as an anthem for the era the world is in. 

Christian Löffler's Lys Remixes will be released July 31st, 2020 on Ki Records.
