Cast your mind back to 1992. The world wide web had only just been invented, and mobile phones were for yuppies and drug dealers. The world we know today was just being born – and being born right at the same time, over in Chicago, was a little label called Large.

Large Music was the brainchild of Windy City resident Jeff Craven, who was worried that house music was in danger of being sidelined in its own birthplace, the international spotlight that had once shone on the pioneering Trax and DJ International imprints having moved on to New York labels such as Strictly Rhythm, Nervous and 8-Ball. “I thought a label with that kind of energy and underground profile could work in Chicago,” says Jeff.  So, pooling funds with a friend, he began finding talent and pressing records. Kerri Chandler's 'Raw Grooves EP' became the label's breakout release, and Large Music hasn't looked back since.

In fact, far from looking back, Large is a record label that's always been about looking forward. In the 90s, their catalogue featured the likes of DJ Sneak, Mateo & Matos and Dennis Ferrer when they were right at the start of their careers, not to mention providing a then-nascent UK garage scene with one of its most enduring anthems in the form of Roy Davis Jr's 'Gabriel'. In the 2000s, the Chicago-based label was quick to pick up on the deep and soulful house coming from the West Coast, releasing material from the likes of Halo, Jay-J, Rasoul, Miguel Migs and Julius Papp. And now as a new decade takes shape, we see Jeff embracing the techier deep house sound that's emerged out of Europe, with recent releases from the likes of Roland Nights, Evan Iff, James Dexter and Matthias Vogt.

Yet while fashions fluctuate and music mutates, one thing that hasn't changed is the Large A&R policy. It's simple: “My formula has always been to release music that I was really into and what I would play as a DJ,” says Jeff. “I'm still just as excited about house music as I was in 1992.” Which probably explains how Large has been able to stay relevant all these years – this is one veteran label that isn't content to endlessly rehash former glories, but who instead keep searching out new underground talent.

At the time of writing this, Large Music is 20 years old, with some 200 singles and 50 albums under their belt, and tracks licensed to over 400 compilations. Which means they've been putting out upfront house music on a weekly basis since before many of the people dancing to it in clubs this weekend were even born. They set out to ensure that house music didn't get sidelined in Chicago in the 90s. What they've actually achieved is to push house forward all over the world for two decades – and counting…

Beyond his success in the studio, MichaelBM has taken his sound to the world’s top stages with the highly successful "Taka Taka World Tour." With over 20 performances across the globe and more than 10 sold-out shows in cities like Buenos Aires, Montañita, Lima, and Gran Canaria, MichaelBM has proven that his music transcends borders. He has performed at some of the most iconic clubs and festivals, including Lost Beach Club in Ecuador (DJMag #25), Duplex in Prague (DJMag #53), Baloo in Ibiza, and the legendary EDC in Mexico.

With the creation of his own record label, ‘Latin House Gang,’ MichaelBM is determined to further push the electronic Latin scene, bringing his passion and creativity to new heights. Founded in 1996 by Peter Adarkwah, Barely Breaking Even (BBE Music) started life as a London club night, taking its name from the eponymous Disco record by the Universal Robot Band.

The label grew from the vibrant early 90's club scene with its first release, Stop & Listen compiled by Dr Bob Jones in 1996, opening the door to iconic series' such as All Back To Mine & Late Nite Tales.

A tonne of releases followed, ranging from Disco to Funk, Jazz to House. In the year 2000, the label celebrated Masters at Work's 10th Anniversary with a mighty box set that featured near 80 tracks.

A year later BBE Music spawned the Beat Generation Series of artist albums, notably introducing J Dilla (Welcome 2 Detroit) & a young Will.I.Am's first solo outing, alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff, Madlib & DJ Spinna, all of whom contributed to this seminal set of long players.

A quarter of a century and well over 500 titles later, having worked with Mark Ronson, Roy Ayers, Questlove, Hugh Masekela, DJ Premier, Dimitri from Paris, Joey Negro, Kon, RZA, Laurent Garnier, Black Coffee, DJ Shadow, David Rodigan and John Morales among many others, BBE Music looks to the future, celebrating its rich heritage while continuing to release a bounty of fresh titles.

The label’s most recent projects include an expansive reissue series from pioneering Nigerian label Tabansi, new imprint ‘Batakari’ in association with Boddhi Satva and the critically acclaimed ‘J Jazz’ Japanese Jazz multi-album project, not to mention the recent landmark 500th label release: a brand new version of 'Barely Breaking Even', featuring Leroy Burgess, Patrick Adams and Louie Vega.

In 2021 BBE Music is celebrating its 25th anniversary. To mark this milestone, the label is offering up some special projects, from the 20th Anniversary edition of J Dilla’s ‘Welcome 2 Detroit’, through David Bowie tribute album ‘Modern Love’, to a special new ‘Worldwide’ compilation from old friend Gilles Peterson. BBE Music will also be looking to the future with more exciting original artist projects, plus merch collaborations events and more...

Producer/DJ from Brighton UK.  Signed to a few labels including Used and Abuse records, Iconyc Noir, Almar, Dynamica, Always Music, Redwave Recordings A3 Music, Sub Label Recordings and many more.

Started out as a trance Dj, back in the late 90's but moved into producing soon after.  Most successful track was a remix i did for My Digital Enemy(MDE)which was released on Used and Abused Music, and also on that same release was Prok & Fitch, LYS, 8 Ball, and Filthy Rich.

Juan Vargas (Sould Out), Jose Alvarez and Rafael Fernandez created Deep Sense in 2009. The main objective of the project was to promote and expose
Mexico City’s underground house, disco and funk scene.
Deep Sense has grown to be recognized as one of tbest electronic music ventures in Mexico City. Our close relation to scenes all over the world has aided us to expand and solidify as a professional brand and as a reference for Mexican electronic music.
Deep Sense has worked with international artists from a wide range of styles and genera including:  
MIguel Migs, Purple Disco Machine, Mark Farina, Drop Out Orchestra, Satin Jackets, Lovebirds, The Timewriter, Phil Weeks, Session Victim, Fred Everything, Tornado Wallace, Dave Allison, Pete Herbert, Dicky Trisco, Greg Willson, Get Down Edits, Jkriv, Derrick Carter and many more.

In 2014 Deep Sense debuts as a Music Label. Our purpose was to spur and promote the work of talented Mexican producers. As of today, we have 16 Ep’s and Various Artists compilations released in all major electronic music stores. All of our releases have been very well received and all of them featured in the prestigious top ten Disco/ Nu-Disco/ Re-Edits sales in Juno.
