Dancy - Dancy Val CouchBurners Burning Man 23 Black Rock City Sunrise September 3rd

This is a recording of a set I played at a recent St Paddy's warehouse party in SF. I started at 5am to (by then) a small but appreciative group of dancers.

The set starts with some new(ish) tracks and ends with some favourites of mine, that you may have heard on some of my other mixes. The newer tunes are a little darker than I normally play, but it suited the tone of the party and the hour of the morning.

Even though my first rave was way back in 1989, this style of music still give me goosebumps! I hope you get those goosebumps too! xx

I’m a hobbyist collector of dance music with a preference for progressive, psychedelic techno and tech house. 

I grew up on underground vibes, but I’m not too worried about a purist sound and I look for ways to make it more approachable for all. 

I started DJing with drum & bass on vinyl. As digital DJ equipment became available, I grew to appreciate the ability to loop and play with tunes in a less linear fashion and began gravitating towards progressive techno. 

I’ve played up and down the west coast of the US and Baja Mexico, burning man & regionals, desert gatherings in the Mojave, and warehouse parties in SD, LA and SF.
