DJ Green Lantern is a DJ, Radio On-Air Personality & Music Producer originally from Rochester, NY.

Brother J, lead vocalist and producer of the pioneer Hip Hop group XClan. Identifying themselves as a messenger group, XClan uses the freedom of speech aspect of Hip Hop to deliver influential lyrics, ancestral knowledge and current events.  The original XClan, were members of a community defense league called the Blackwatch Movement, which was founded in Brooklyn, New York; in the mid 1980’s by Lumumba Carson.  Brother J joined the Blackwatch Movement in late 1980s, referred by his High School comrade Anthony Hardin (DJ Sugar Shaft) & Claude Gray (Architect Paradise); a host of the Latin Quarters Hip Hop night in NYC. Brother J as a DJ and spoken word artist, was now learning from elder activists, working with community outreach and security for Hip Hop venues and events.
Following the template of the Blackwatch, combining Hip Hop elements with social activism, Brother J then created a music group that reflected the generational crossroads of the moment.  XClan was born into the “Golden Era of Hip Hop” music, releasing their debut album To the East Blackwards in 1990 on 4th and Broadway/Island Records. This album became a Hip Hop Classic, followed by Xodus (1992) - both albums peaked at #11 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in the United States.
After the production project Dark Sun Riders Seeds of Evolution (1994), Brother J moved to California to further study music and production. In 2006, he released Return from Mecca and 2007, Mainstream Outlawz; both on Suburban Noize Records. He toured and recorded with the Marley Family, Tech N9ne, Jurassic 5, Papa Roach, Public Enemy and more.  
Extending the efforts of the original XClan, Brother J founded the Culture United Movement, expanding the production house and developing opportunities for conscious artists and inspirational films. He has received Resolution and Recognition awards from the Cities of Compton and Carson California; in salute of his dedication to the community and contributions to world history and culture. He has joined prominent scholars in lecture forums to educate and reconnect the misinformed. 
As an ambassador of Hip Hop Culture, Brother J extends his philanthropy to Heroes 1st, a black veteran's league founded in Long Beach, CA. that assists veterans with detox, education, shelter and therapy.  He and XClan donate resources and time to the Veteran military and the Veteran street soldiers of our community, thru productions and fundraisers. 
Currently, Bro. J is producing a documentary and a lyric translation book on To the East, Blackwards.  He is available for film and sound production, voice overs, performances, speaking engagements & workshops.
