Opus Eyes is the alter-ego of award winning Toronto producer and songwriter Harrison Fine. Drawing on over a decade of experience working as a producer and audio engineer for hundreds of artists, performing in bands and as a solo singer-songwriter, the Opus Eyes project is a dramatic creative unleashing of Fine’s many talents. The highly anticipated Opus Eyes debut EP “Lightswitch” pushes the boundaries of just what alternative pop and electronic music can do. Designed to be a cinematic listener experience, Lightswitch will soon be available for download on iTunes and streaming on Spotify. 

I am a composer/musical researcher/performer who spends most of my time teaching or doing live sound. All of the pieces are composed, recorded and played by me, on acoustic instruments.

Philomene Hoffman was born in Kitchener Waterloo, ON.  She is a guitarist, singer/songwriter performer weaving her personal stories about life and her day to day experiences from a quaking, passionate poet's heart.  Philomene was creating songs and instrumental pieces since she was a little girl.  Philomene shares, "It all started with me playing counter tops and pots, singing in my Babji's kitchen as a kid with my Uncle Wally who played the accordian." 

The summer from July 18- Aug. 8, 2012 Philomene finished a U.S. music tour with her nephew Luke Andrews who is also a singer, songwriter performer. They attended a three day SongCamp in Nashville, TN showcased there at two venues, the Commodore and Taps, then moved on to perform shows in Hot Springs Arkansas, Mena, Arkansas and Braedeton, Florida.

Philomene’s album "HER MUSE"  dives deeper into personal perspective reflections than previous recordings, with Philomene herself examining new corners of her heart and soul in the writing. Individual tracks feature violin, bass, flute, piano, sax and her own mix of folk-blues-rock and classical influences. The bare bones of the songwriting began almost a decade ago with lyrics written while Hoffman still lived in Toronto. Violinist Alex Cheung and multi-instrumentalist MichelPlourde contributed much to the initial arrangements of what would be the new album.

Philomene's Six-Year Journey from the Big Smoke to Grey Bruce County and back gave birth to "HER MUSE", released August 20, 2011 at the Liberty Bistro in the heart of Toronto’s Liberty Village. Hoffman's music has been described as, “A hot dynamic power house of tender lyrics held in the hands of spirited Celtic Jive.” 

THE SIX YEAR JOURNEY to GREY BRUCE COUNTY 2003- 2009
In 2003 Hoffman started a personal journey that would eventually lead to a resurgence of song and writing. She left Toronto in 2003 until 2009 to help care-give for her parents near Owen Sound Ontario, Grey Bruce County, to teach with the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board and to write.
“My songwriting itself was aching to be held within a huger, more expansive soundscape of a wobbly yet knowing heart. So, it took me time to recognize the way”, says Hoffman.
She left the hub of Toronto’s musical community for her Grey Bruce County roots to spend time with her parents, care-giving and teaching. Hoffman’s new friendships and GBC’s beauty opened Hoffman to a vast exploration of her artistic musings, cradled in countryside and the long and winding Saugeen River. Continuing the music connection with long-time collaborator and violinist, Alex Cheung, and Michel Plourde, Hoffman began the transition to recording new material. 
Under welcoming surroundings she connected with recording engineer Randy Martin (of Hawkwind Studios), saxophonist Steve Kennedy (Lighthouse), and drummer Billy McWaters, to record several years of fresh dynamic songwriting.

Philomene's MUSIC as a SOLO or DUO is traditional folk rock with baroque string influences . As a TRIO or with FULL BAND her music springs into a fusion of folkie, bluesy rock with classical influences, blended with a fiery celtic edge of eclectic violin and sensual lovemaking string harmonies that hint of a mystical Pink Floyd/Daniel Lanois soundscape.
Her VOICE is a hot dynamic power house of tender lyrics held in the hands of a spirited jive somewhere between a Joni Mitchell and a Joan Armatrading.

Her father passed away in June 2011, though Hoffman knows her father and mother are here in spirit, listening. 
This album “HER MUSE” is in loving dedication and memory of her parents, Phil and Sue Hoffman.
