Eiji Taniguchi may be a new name to some but not only has he got perfect taste in a world of music many of us love he is also the co-compiler of those gorgeous Virtual Dreams compilations on Music From Memory which explore the worlds of ambient house, deep techno and artificial intelligence leaning business. They are just perfect and, as many of you know, were compiled alongside Jamie Tiller. Jamie had amazing taste in music so this sort of explains the quality of music Eiji is exploring.

We asked Ewan to make us a short promo mix and this came in, totalling 32 tracks and clocking in at 2 hours 24 minutes! It opens with the sound of Mark Hollis’s voice as a nice nod to Spirit of Eden and then veers from drone through Balearic, Compass Point ish funk, Psych-y stuff and ends with Krauty excursions and a smattering of New Wave Pop.

Running Away With The Techno Circus

Last May, we invited Leon Vynehall to play a rare 'open to close' set at Honey Soundsystem. There are not many selectors that we can trust to not only DEBUT themselves at a HSS party but also take on a room entirely to themselves. His set exceed our expectations and the recording ACTUALLY came out.

Honey fans know we don't release many live-recordings, but when we do they often have a life of their own (see Jennifer Cardini at Burning Man, Silent Servant at Holy Cow, Black Madonna at Deviants, Doc Sleep at the 9 Year Anniversary)

This set has been on repeat since that May 26th night and after some serious cajoling, Vynehall agreed to release the first couple of hours. Vynehall does not really release live mixes so we know how special this is and thank him for letting us go with it.

The set went on for another 3.5 hours but included some material Vynehall can't have out in the world yet. So... here is an exceptionally good 3.5 hours at one of our traditional Sunday night, holiday weekend, Honey Soundsystem parties in San Francisco.

Last year we spent some time in Bali at Potato Head (@potatoheadmusic). Alongside my night time gig I asked them if I could play a "sunset set" by the beach. Instead a biblical thunderstorm rolled through and we all huddled under the covers. 
Some records I have played before, some I haven't all of them special to me in some way.

He’s played lots of records to lots of people in lots of clubs, bars, warehouses, fields, deserts, basements, carparks and bunkers over the years. Phil has been chosen to play alongside a diverse range of visiting in Australia and has played all over the world, including London, Berlin, Mexico, Asia and across the USA. 

Co-founder of record labels Think and Thunk, he’s also released original material and remixes under various guises on labels like Motorik, Junkbeats and Future Classic.
