I had dreams as a kid of what life could bring, big career, super star, falling in love. But now that I have found the love of my life I've learned that even the girl in the dreams I once had was way overrated compared to the woman I am with now.

I started writing this song in the barracks during Army Basic Training and finished it on the porch of the house I grew up in. Nothing is more important to me than family relationships, that is where home is found.

"Good to be Alive" was written to encourage those who are struggling with thoughts of ending their life. I know it sucks really bad sometimes, like really bad. And no one seems to understand or be able to help. And while we don't understand what you're going through, we do want to try. hang in there and remember even as bad as things get, it's good to be alive.

I'm still healing was written for anyone dealing with chronic pain. Chronic pain is a lonely and relentless experience. Lack of sleep, discomfort, spurts of energy followed by drought and despondency. One day is good, the next day you can't move. Wherever you are in your healing journey, I hope this song can be a moment of medicine for you. Relax and listen, take a moment and hold the pain thats been holding you down. I love you, hang I'm there.

I'm still healing

When I was a small child, I watched as my mom passed away in the front seat. Now I am married to the love of my life with 5 beautiful children. Having experienced addiction, sexual abuse, chronic pain from 2 back surgeries and another back surgery pending, discovering a sister I didn't know I had who my mom had given up for adoption when she was 16, experiencing a faith crisis, and joining the Army reserves I have learned that life has many colors. All these ups and downs that life has to offer make life beautiful. 

I like to look at it this way. When it feels like my whole world has been turned upside down. I choose to see it as God flipping the canvas of my life upside down for a moment to apply a beautiful stroke of paint He couldn't have otherwise. "When my sky turns into floor, I know this is the life I've been living for!"

Whatever you have gone through or are experiencing now, you can make a comeback! This song is for you and anyone who mistakenly feels their glory days are behind them or that their past traumas or tragedy are too heavy to heal from. 

"This is for every broken dream, for every night spent on our knees. This is for you, dreaming too, of all the good that we can do, THIS IS OUR COMEBACK SONG!"

You don't need anyone's permission to find your purpose and chase your passion.

 If you're miserable in your job, change career paths. go back to school, get specialty training for something that is more fulfilling.

If you have been thinking about learning something new, learning an instrument, starting a business. Go all in! 

We only get THIS life ONCE! It's okay if it doesn't work out the first time or the first time you dream. This will at least get you on track to finding what is truly fulfilling as well as brings you an abundance of resources. This is called finding your purpose.

Stop making decisions based on what you think will lead others around you to approve of you. You will never be truly happy, trying to make others accept you. Learn to be 100% you 100% of the time!

That will attract the people to you that are right for you. The people that accept you for all of you. You don't have to pretend to be around them, you can just be you 

You deserve to be happy. But to find real and lasting joy, it will mean we have to be unafraid to face the inner changes we need to make in order to find that inner Peace. 

The battle isn't with those around you, it is in learning what is within you and honoring it. Learning to be 100% honest with your self when you messed up. When you spoke out of turn, when you misjudged, when your own ego was too big. Full acceptance requires full ownership. And an open mind to criticism from those who accept you for who you are and will call you out when your not being your true self.

My Miracle

Phillip Enkey was born and raised in a small town on the coast of North Carolina called Havelock. He was one of five young boys when his mother passed away in a tragic car accident. His father remarried a woman who had a daughter of her own and adopted Phillip and his brothers. Together, they had two more daughters. Growing up in a large family of ten wasn't always easy. Phillip relied on music as a way to cope with the loss of his mother and the formation of his new family. Phillip found love young, meeting his future wife at 14 yrs old. They dated exclusively through high school until Phillip eventually left on a two year mission for his church at the age of 19. His high school sweetheart, Danielle, wrote him every week, and they married when he returned home. Much of his music is from falling in love as a teenager and getting through the pains of loss, depression and addiction with the help of his young love Danielle and his faith. After being married with four kids, Phillip later learned that his deceased mother was forced to give her first baby up for adoption when she was 16, Phillip was united with a sister he never knew he had! Later, his older brother William Enkey would come home after serving two tours in Afghanistan with wounds only soldiers can understand. This inspired Phillip to join the Army and say goodbye to his wife and four young children for 6 months to do so. Music from Phillip Enkey is born from love, inspiration needed in painful times, and a reseliant spirit that has carried him through high highs and very low lows. His music is known for its positive, upbeat, and catchy romantic flavor.
