We are delighted to welcome Swedish producer Whirl with his superb 'Time Arc EP' to ICONYC. The talented producer has been causing a stir within the scene with his unique and lasting productions. Whirl developed an inimitable style of music, full of drive, paired with despondent and warm dreamy patterns that guided them to where he is today and embodies the sound, he now personifies. 
 
On his debut Whirl leads with the outstanding 'Aevum'; a stunning driving melodic affair with some techno elements for good measure. The track utilizes a deep groove as foundation, underpinned by a profound bass and driving synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a deep kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction. Clever synth phrases complete the picture to create an ingeniously worked piece of art. 

The melodic soundscapes of the accompanying track 'Arc' rounds off this spectacular release. Whirl's influences are immediately evident as subtle freeform concepts drift through percussive inspired instrumentations. Rippling melodies trip along a deep kick that anchors an auricular montage to create a special sonic infused moment, complemented by a stunning groove that is going to leave a mark on your aural perception. Stunningly textured pads that warm the soul and a strong melodic infused bassline provide the base for this inspired piece to play out in delayed glory. Essential stuff!

With Whirl's debut outing on ICONYC, he takes his talents a step further to round off this brilliant underground 2 track crowd pleaser. Before his first track on dasMoment was even released, Julian Crue approached Yannick with the request to remix “Hypmn” (Hypomania). Just a few days later, the stems landed in his inbox, and the creative flow started immediately.

The title “Hypomania” turned out to be the perfect description of the process: driven by energy, restless, and overflowing with ideas. Julian couldn’t sit still—each step unfolded naturally, even leading to a spontaneous twist that emerged right out of the moment.

This remix is a milestone for Julian, marking his very first official rework. And what better way to begin than with Hypmn? His interpretation slows things down slightly, infusing the track with an extra layer of psychedelic sounds, groovy rhythms, and an uplifting vibe.
