So last week I went to the Free Your Mind festival in Arnhem where Seth Troxler played, which was quit the inspiring event. My friend explained the me the concept of "camel techno". Which is when you're dancing it feels like you could be on the back of a camel just bouncing back and fort (in a good way!). So based on that this rolled out today. Ron Costa made a first label appearance back in 2013 with the dark groove and twisted vocals of ‘Berlidof’. The following year he was back, turning his remix talents to Paul Ritch’s ‘Pulse’. Today the Frenchman makes a welcome return with a brand new double-header - Goose / Erussel. 

Having had a global audience Dancin’ for the past twelve months Costa flies solo once again. Fresh from his excellent remix of Pig&Dan he delivers another brace of gripping techno tracks for SCI+TEC. 

The hypnotic Goose presents an almost asphyxiating groove that tightens throughout. One for the strobe-lit rooms, no doubt. Erussel on the flip is a different animal altogether. With its spacious beats and epic radiant rise, its a track that will have the dancer reaching for the celestial sphere.

So here we go for 2k17! Starting into a new year with a new release on Formatik Records, the label debut for the young French producer Matt Sassari, the man behind a hefty string of releases on labels like Time Has Changed Records, Bouq., Relief Records and many others since he stepped on the scene in 2012.

With the title track „Foorewer“ we see the Frenchman provide a sweet take on looped and filtered TechHouse with a twist, living up to the standards by catering a menu of muscular bass, cut and twisted vocal bits as well scarce percussive bits and highly modified sound abstractions taking their influences from the more minimalist side of the electronic club music spectrum – an amalgamation functional as functional can get and defo a tune that'll be heard on dancefloors all over the place on a regular within the next months.

The second tune on here is „Funq Zap“; another on point production by Matt Sassari that's taking TechHouse to slightly deeper late night level, keeps bodies moving due to the use of precise drum, decent wood percussions and haunting white noise layers whilst our braincells are spooked out by warped and alienated vocals dealing with struggles of everyday's life on the street. C'mon man!
