Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Thursday morning (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 9th December: from around midday on Friday you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch348

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept SoundCloud Go tracks, which can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which will be invisible to everyone. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted will also be removed. 

We will publish a special playlist of all the Christmas-related submissions we've received on Christmas Eve -- these will not appear in this playlist or be considered for the Listening Post.

Brick Wall ‘the standout track of the night’ (Beatnik Events) is the next single from Phoebe Coco’s forthcoming debut album. A story narrated by Phoebe Coco’s signature voice and piano, the harmonies of her twin sisters Grace and Dorothy with undulating synth bass, drum machines and shakers, it takes us to the immovable brick wall, the lives of kids growing up and even to swirling psychedelic fields. Out on Sharp Attack Records with a music video on the 5th of June this is a live favourite at Phoebe’s gigs, with an ‘instantly memorable melody’, and is sure to get you singing along, as we too break away from the barrier of the Brick Wall and into a new place altogether. 


 With a live stream gig on the same weekend it’s out on the 5th of June via Sharp Attack Records, co-produced by Phoebe Coco with Marc Makavov and Vanessa Anne Redd and mixed by Grammy Award winning Eduardo De Le Paz.

London based Phoebe Coco’s debut single Silver Lives is filled with happy go lucky magic, a seaside world where everyday worries are cast aside. Escaping for a day, captured on 16mm video,  Phoebe is joined by her younger twin sisters, Grace and Dorothy, whose ethereal voices feature on her forthcoming solo debut album. Sisterhood is strong, as the three skip, dance and play to find that gap between the sea and sky.
The song is brimming with electronic and acoustic instrumentation, led by Phoebe’s trademark voice and piano underpinned by light mesmeric “la’s” that will leave you caught in the spell as you find yourself singing along. 

The story of Silver Lives began when composer Phoebe Coco scored a piece of music for the release of Alexa’s Chung’s ARCHIVE clothing range for M&S (the film titled ‘A Day in the Life’ starring Adwoa Aboah).  The next phase of production and writing was done together with Marc Makarov and Vanessa Anne Redd of Sharp Attack Records while producing the rest of Phoebe Coco’s album. The music video was made by Alex F Webb ( who also shot the initial film with photographer Tom Craig) where Phoebe and her sisters are seen wearing the Alexa Chung range, courtesy of Alexa’s Archive. This is a new studio mix of the single, done by multi Grammy award winning Eduardo De La Paz, then mastered in Air at Alchemy studios by Kevin Tuffy and will be coming out with the full studio album ‘My White Horse & I’ in November 2020

Silver Lives

London based, welsh born artist and composer Phoebe Coco released her acclaimed debut album in 2020:  ‘My White Horse & I’ - achieving local, national and global radio play from the likes of BBC 6 Music. She was nominated best female artist of the year in the Radio Wigwam awards. Phoebe Coco currently performs and writes songs for the environment, most specifically trees, in a project titled ‘Tree Song’. She currently has a musical ‘Tree Song Tree Trail’ where her songs can be heard - installed across green spaces of London.  Her recent writings and performances with trees have been aired by renowned author Robert Macfarlane on BBC 4 Front Row. In this performance she sang her vocal arrangement of his ‘Charm-against-Harm’: ‘Heartwood’.
