This is a collaboration with the super talented kanadian keyboarder Jordan Davis a.k.a. tempoTronix, whom I could win for a collaboration on an older track of mine, where he took over all keyboard parts. As we both are prog metal enthusiasts we have left our traces from this genre in this track.

Sometimes being alone is less lonely than being with other people. This song reveals that feeling. This guy has a night of celebration with a woman, including all the prerequisite elements of eating, dining and intimacy, but in the end it’s an empty liaison where he once again reaches too eagerly for the elusive meaningful, fulfilling relationship, only to come up hungover and empty. There is sarcasm in his comparisons to it being a “paradise amour”. The song features the wonderful pedal steel playing of Dakota Holden, which gives a neat country spin to what is a bit of a hybrid between urban folk and country blues. Confetti is a fun and colorful thing, till you wake up late for work with it lining the inside of your shoes.

I want to also explain about this song and us as artists. We have already made, and will continue to make songs in our genre of catchy pop, earthy folk and ethereal mystique. We are comfortable there, but we thought we would try something a little different, a little left field. This is arty and abstract, just for fun... but it was also kind of serious, inspired after having just finished reading Angela's Ashes.

Tez then sent it to me. I added the bass and a little synth, too. I'm very impressed with and grateful to Ominous Beats for sharing this very cool song with us. Tez knows exactly how to mix it, too. This is the 7th song posted from the album I have been working on using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! I can't believe how fast time has passed and how long we have been working on this project. 4 songs from the album are based on a graphic novel that Wou-Wou had started before the pandemic began. The rest of the songs are reflections of the weird times we were living in.

Big thanks to Wou Wou, Bit-zone, and Stricknice for still being here after all these years. I have known and worked with people on SoundCloud probably longer than I have known high school friends, college friends, and friends from various jobs. Huge thanks to Guitar Wizards of the Future. I remember when I first began participating in the SoundCloud community, I would always eagerly anticipate a new GWOTF track, especially because I grew up in Oakland California. Short track exploring hip hop genres, with help from two little pixies inhabiting home lately. Sick part in the middle was generated from a Fibonacci series, proving there is order in any chaotic system. Only a stupid would have played guitar on that mess… so I did. Pic taken under a bridge in my hometown.

Challenge was to make one of my shorter songs with one of my longer lyrics, so I 'had' to craft it into an amalgam of 9/4 and 4/4 signatures. Thus, it may feel crazy on verses but I hope also catchy on refrains.

Sólo pido no tener deseos (Ya no quiero imaginar)  /  I ask only not to have desires (I don’t want to imagine anymore)
