Parisian producer DJ @atlance follows up an appearance on Happiness Energy’s various artist compilation late last year with five sun-soaked house cuts on @runningoutofsteam, just in time for January coming to an end.

‘After The Storm’ maintains its housey aesthetic, but this time on an electro-tipped 2-step; instantly recognisable vocal samples, dreamscape aesthetics and meditative breaks uniting on a blissed-out trip.

Vienna, Austria’s Jon Gravy delivers his second album this May, entitled ‘MMXX’, composed over the past two years and comprised of seven original compositions, several of which feature collaborating artists such as DXDX, Jill and Anna Buchegger.

Over the past few years Jon Gravy’s raw and hazy electronic style has seen him unveil material on the likes of Blaq Numbers, Rough Recordings, Pets Recordings and his own Step Back Trax, piquing the interest of the likes of Cinthie, Demuja and KETTAMA along the way. Here though he delivers his latest long player via his own Gravy Trax, a seven- track collection which traverses through breaksy electronica, warm deep house and spacey electro.

Leading the album is ‘MMXX earth’, fuelled by fluttering synth chords and vocal chants alongside airy pads, bumpy broken drums and elongated subs. ‘Close To You’ follows and sees Gravy collaborate with DXDX to deliver a cinematic composition driven by emotive vocals, soaring strings, gnarly bass and 2-step drums. ‘Hold Us feat. Jill’ follows next and shifts focus on bubbling arpeggios and dynamic drum breaks and intricately processed ethereal vocals. The third collaboration is up next, featuring Anna Buchegger and entitled ‘Sunrise’, as the name would suggest the delicate synth work, sweeping vocals and ravey arps make for a perfect early hour’s workout.

‘Thoughtful Hours’ then shines a light on a more electro leaning influence via crunchy 808’s, resonant chords and winding resonant synths before ‘Keep Waitin’’ returns back to choppy drum work, filtered atmospherics and an amalgamation of cut up vocals. Lastly ‘Melt 2.73’ rounds out the release on a deep house tinged 4/4 tip, fusing organic drums and bumpy bass stabs with textural voices, smooth pads and a circling lead line.
