Phonix (a.k.a Andrew Simpson) grew up in the English county of Surrey in a small town called Farnham. Interested in Music from an early age Andrew picked up the drums and proceeded to learn to play them for a further eight years. Whilst learning to play the drums he also picked up a keen interest in writing his own material, and so picked up the guitar.

It was the foundation given through the knowledge of these two musical instruments that spurred Andrew into pursuing more musical outlets.

Whilst maintaining a solid interest in Rock music from playing Guitar and Drums, Andrew was also introduced to House music by his Father. Electronic music was the new medium he had been searching for through which to focus his compositional skills.

Alongside the many sub-genres of House music, Andrew also picked up a keen interest in many other genres of electronic music including Trance, Techno, Dubstep and Drum & Bass.

Currently Andrew is focusing on performing for as many people as he can get an audience for, whether it be his online monthly downloadable mixes which cross many different genres, or his DJ sets, things are truly looking positive.
