Our forever friend, and great DJ Another Pixel, comes to Phonographe to deliver a twofold series about the sounds of the street in the early times of DJing. As much a historical work than an artistic expression, this mix reminds how much electronic music in indebted to this pionner period.

Pas encore pubère le jour où il s'est frotté à une platine pour la première fois, Nathan Zahef est l'incarnation parfaite du pur DJ. Des eaux houleuses d'une Techno juteuse aux remous d'une House excentrique, ce kid inarrêtable navigue sans perdre le cap, fort d'une patte reconnaissable entre mille. Explosif et généreux, le fer de lance du crew Remois La Forge n'a aucune peine à semer à la fois le fuel et les allumettes dans le club pour regarder avec un sourire en coin prendre le feu de joie.

Since the purchase of my vinyl decks in 1996 and my first mixtapes on K7, I didn’t stop to share, with the dancers, sonic explorations marked with soul and sung by machines. 

After actions of musical broadcasting within the collectives Stimuli and then Inner Corner, I'm today a DJ member of the Phonocrew (Phonographe Corp) and an analog grooves explorer in my studio.

Far from linear mood, mixing urban grooves with futuristic sounds, my "wax only" DJ sets are inspired by the freedom of « Jazz », the energy of orignal Hip Hop culture of the soul of Detroit Techno. I like to surprise, make rise, come down, rise… at the instigation of funky and ardend rhythmics crossing cosmic basslines and ecstatic arpeggios.

To express even more my physical relationship with music, I sometimes add beatboxes and analog synthesizers to records, completely piloted LIVE "by hand" and with hardware sequencers.
