phonon~ swarming mixtape series is inviting underground experimental sound culture agents to manifest their communities and ecosystems through a selection of sonic gems from their habitats. Together with the invited guests we are researching today's meaning of self-care, mindfulness and slow life. Soundwise the focus of the show is directed towards sound art, field recordings, contemporary experimental electronic and electroacoustic music.

Purple Ears

First mix from phonon~ swarming show on @ma3azef radio introduces a close encounter with the music mycelium around Snediggen Snurssla and the AVA collective. 

The composition is a collage of raw unprocessed field recordings, sound interventions in space, improvisation with objects, as well as cooperations, jams, and yet unreleased production from the AVA collective members and collaborators, including several records to be released in 2022.

Inside you will find experimental electronics with overlaps into broken irregular rhythms, mindance music, tranc(e), psychedelia, polyrhythmia, interspatial vibrations and fractal mechanics of nature and the mechanics of civilization. Snediggen calls it "weightless" and "nobpm" club music, or "fourth world music".

For the mixtape, Snediggen relies on his own methodology, which he calls "clefts/situations", and other practises from the author's workshops: active listening, intervention in the sound environment, improvisation, collective sound meditation, etc.

Main premises:

- Activation to listen to the environment: We are all co-authors of the sound composition around us and can actively shape it;
- Activation to create our own (collective and internal) safe-spaces in the city: We can easily create our own safe "situation" in a "crack" anywhere in our everyday urban experience and we can crawl into and create a safe space there.
- Therapy: all the sound approaches described have therapeutic and emancipatory potential.

A Prague-based music journalist, DJ and electronic music producer, @fh_1138 is a regular contributor to @inverted-audio, @radiopunctum, and a part of the @noise_kitchen collective. PAIJATA — a monthly show on London’s Netil Radio — houses Freddie’s explorations of the corners of ambient music, exploring the touch-sensitive side of the umbrella genre. @fh_1138

/// Spiritual healing through music is a practice as old as music itself — at the furthest depths of music’s meaning lies strength in collectivism, the bandage on individual and shared trauma, the desire to connect with that which binds sentient life. 

Spiritual healing in electronic music is just as intrinsically tied to the relatively modern mode of production, and there are a number of tangential and parallel threads which, when pulled gently, eke out a story which can be told forever. Some find this in the thud of rhythmic club music, while others look for esoteric sounds in the constellation of so called “ambient” music.    

This collection of music and recordings showcases in particular various aspects of spiritual ambient music from artists in and from the Czechia and Slovakia region, interspersed with frequency tuned music for healing and relaxation from global artists, and also frames within the picture some music which fits in neither category of description, yet also somehow both. It aims to stir the ancient within the listener, granting an opportunity to open the mind. ///

Drift Study Interpretation (krátkodobá zvuková instalace), 2019

Zvuková prostorová instalace je interpretací kompozice Drift Study (1968) skladatele La Monte Young. Jednotlivé sinusoidy jsou tvořeny ve specifickém frekvenčním poměru, který umožňuje posluchači v prostoru vnímat proměňující se skladbu, která je v zásadě statická. Jemné, oscilující několika-hodinové sólo sinusoidových vln zve posluchače k objevování harmonie skrze prostor a pohyb v něm.

Drift Study Interpretation (short-time audio installation), 2019

Sound spatial installation is an interpretation of  composition Drift Study (1968) by La Monte Young. Individual sinewaves are being created in such a specific frequency ratio, which enables the listener to percieve them as a changing spatial composition, which is static by nature. Gentle, oscillating solo of sinusoid waves invites the listener to discover harmony through space and movement.
