Another spring has sprung as we are back for the 62nd entry in our podcast series, this time with @Nemsb, a DJ and producer from Marseille. Deep and soft at first, this one gradually gives way to more intense, punchy and percussive rhythms. As everything around starts to flourish, dive into Nems-B's forest of sounds.

Born and raised in the south of France, Nahim Bendjilali or Nems-B has well over 20 years of experience in the electronic music scene. Whether it's DJing, music production, podcast curation or event promotion – he has seen the dance scene all around. With performances at @parallelfestival, @vurtkr, @tresorberlin, Gare Porto and others up his sleeve, Nems-B also has released music on @Oslated, Geometrika FM, and @on-board-music, to count a few.

Together, we curated the environment and the music, in the Cleanest Warehouse Of All Time (!!). I played after Aza and directly before @_bbmmgg_, it was like a special family reunion. The 2nd set uploaded from this party that we did with Perc Trax back in June 2012 is from headliner on the night Kangding Ray. 

With a number of LP & EP releases out already at the time on Raster-Noton we had wanted to book David for quite a few years previously and it never quite came off until this night. It was well worth the wait as he delivered an exceptionally exquisite live set jam packed with his signature atmospherics and carefully put together tones & textures.

The Bunker Podcast 229 comes from Berlin's @sarahwreath, who takes you on a journey of intricate rhythms intertwine, leading you deeper into a mesmerizing labyrinth of sound. 

If listening, collection, and selection have been daily habits since her youth, the processes of production and devoted explorations into the ripples of sound became the most important aspects of her current practice. In her vision, there is no prevailing preference over the role of producer or DJ - no hierarchical distinction amongst the club’s dancefloor, the acoustic hall or the healing sound bath. In the same perspective, both the creator and the careful selector of music & sound are entrusted with the power of touching the body-mind complexities of listeners and dancers with forceful acoustic messages.

Starting off 2024, she made her debut at Tresor Berlin for her first contribution to Infrastructure New York, which also features her collaborative work with David Sumner aka Function, from the Sandwell District collective.

Besides her output as a DJ she has been a curator for 10 years in her hometown Vancouver, runs events with a crew called Dolly and guides listeners through her intergelactic curation for @mfispacecrafts.

Giulia Fournier-Mercadante (GiGi FM) is a multi-disciplinary artist, DJ, resident of NTS Radio, dancer and music producer. Boldly versatile, GiGi FM’s selections have charmed bodies on dancefloors all across the world, such as Berghain, Rural Japan, Draaimolen, Fabric, De School, Primavera, The Bunker New York, and Sustain Release. In the booth her genre-defying spirit is in full effect with techno, bass, breaks and ambient all coming in to play.

Deeply influenced by astrology, philosophy and the cosmos; for GiGi, music is both a tool for expression and introspection. As a multi- hyphenate artist, she continues on her quest to push artistic boundaries and hold space for unique audience experiences. Whatever medium she may adopt, the result is a rich embodiment of the interconnectedness of sound, colour, movement and metaphysics.

MNMT 413 : Faery

Repping an oft overlooked Swiss techno contingent comes the next guest in Bassiani’s podcast series. Basel born and raised Garçon is one of the most promising names to call the bucolic town on the shores of the Rhine his home. He got an early start, mixing from the age of 14 and booked a mere two years later, assiduously cobbling together influences in his early work and soon delivering performances city-wide. First those at Hinterhof (now closed) and then those at local staple Elysia. With musical collaborator Agonis he’s also fired up techno label Amenthia Recordings, an agar dish for like-minded Basel music makers. His own sonic experiments are a purely live affair, and that’s no bad thing. Garçon’s escapades, from Waking Life to Barcelona’s Parallel have honed his voice and made of him an adept hand when faced with the strenuous demands of modulating crowd energy. Nodding to a range of influences across the electronic map he harbours a superlative talent for finding niche sounds at the fringes of common scope. Enter Podcast 208: towering, no-bullshit sounds, an hour of ghostly, mechanical whispers and powerful basslines, earth-shaking and infinitesimally precise techno from this connoisseur selector.

Bassiani invites Garçon / Podcast #208

Stojche is one of the names on the European circuit that is broadening the scope of the underground dance music today. Hailing straight from the Macedonia (currently Berlin resident), he makes some of most downright electronic music right now. Stojche Cvetanovski grew up listening and playing techno in the Macedonia's capital Skopje, went on to run parties and clubs and from there moved to producing, developing his own take on the underground dance music, a sound that is distilled perfectly into his dj sets. 

His releases on various imprints like Argumento, DMK, Subwax, Tangible Assets, Freund Der Familie and others showed consistency in his quality music outputs and proved his ability to execute a ‘’must have’’ record. 

He is one of the guys behind Argumento Music and also runs his solo Vinyl imprint “Tangible Assets” that releases various forms of techno and house associated with the traces of deepness. 

Stojche’s style does not derive from a certain genre. His DJ sets are full of exquisite, refreshing, rolling, quirky, edgy, and crisp grooviness, where he is capable of combining the forces from various forms of electronic music.
