We are so thrilled to finally share this delicious mix recorded by the French/Polish DJ and producer ~ ina kacz. We met Ina last year in London during her visit and have immediately bonded over a few shared musical experiences, keeping in touch since. It feels so right to finally welcome her to the Introspective Electronics family. She recorded just over an hour of seamlessly flowing ambient textures weaved together with various shades of rhythm-driven experimental dance sounds for us  🤍

Ina’s music taste is refreshingly eclectic, yet she manages to keep her signature sound ~ combining deep atmospheres, breaks, tribalism and groove ~ well defined. A household name on her local Berlin scene, with DJ sets at Berghain and Tresor under her belt, Ina also tours around the globe, notably in Georgia, France, Portugal, or Colombia among other places. In 2022, she has released her first track ‘Sequoia’ as part of a compilation on the Colombian imprint ‘From A Lost Place’ 💫

This mix is the perfect example of challenging the frontiers between music for listening and dancing. Starting off patiently with droney ambient and glitchy downtempo, the mix picks up pace around its middle section to dive into heady, futuristic drum’n’bass weightlessness wrapped in soft, warm & fuzzy blankets of lush atmospherics. Under the alias of Carsten Jost hides none other than David Lieske, co-founder of the seminal deep-house bastion that is Dial Records. A native of the red-brick-dressed Hamburg, David couldn’t have wished for a better school than Germany’s best-known disco-chalet, i.e. the mighty Golden Pudel, where he and longtime partner in crime Lawrence would get to decisively forge their unique sensibility whilst learning the ins and outs of DJing.

As a master of the decks, Carsten Jost covers a wide span of hypnotic house music as much as he enjoys traversing more nuanced spectrums of leftfield electronics and further melancholy-drenched ambient. If the majority of his productions were originally issued back in the early two-thousands, 2017 marked an important milestone in David’s own artistic career with the release of his second album, ‘Perishable Tactics‘, featuring material new and old, including some previously released tracks from his ‘Atlantis’ EP as well as his timeless classic, ‘Love’, originally part of a 2007-issued split 12″ alongside Efdemin.

Within two decades of faultless curation and body-and-soul dedication to their craft, it’s safe to say Dial has become one of the most dependable and respected record labels in the world of electronic music, laying the foundations to a sound catalogue unlike anything else, and which very few out there could ever boast bringing to life: Efdemin, John Roberts, Pantha Du Prince, Roman Flügel, Portable, DJ Richard, Christian Naujoks, James K… the list is long.

And so goes the list of key clubs and events David has graced over the years, with past performances at Zur Klappe, Paloma Bar, Griessmuehle, ://about blank, Panorama Bar, Public Records in New York, REX Club in Paris, Golden Pudel and PAL in Hamburg, JAX in Amsterdam, Jaeger in Oslo, Oval Space and Corsica Studios in London.
