Human Safari is a key player in his native scene in Malta. He’s a resident at Glitch Festival, has played cult spots, and has a dynamic sound that brings jazz improvisation to techno, often featuring live instrumental elements. His music has found its place on top labels like R&S Records, and most of this new EP for SHDW’s Mutual Rytm imprint was produced during his Colombian summer tour last year - written and recorded amongst inspiring and unusual settings with just a laptop and headphones.

“This EP represents embracing new beginnings that, though might bring uncertainty and fear, the light always guides you to where you were always meant to be.” - Human Safari.

Opener ‘Mouse on Keys’ has been a key cut for the label boss across the past year, a unique track that peaks curiosity from dancers to DJs whenever it’s played. Its cantering techno rhythm is overlaid with delicate, heartfelt piano keys straight from a smoky jazz bar, making for a great counter to the physical drums. ‘Fragments’ is a deeply personal track dedicated to the artist’s late grandfather. It's a funky, soulful techno roller with blissed-out and sunny chords full of hope.

Next, ‘Classique’ gets more gritty with loopy drums and bass and glitchy percussion that fizzes with energy, while ‘The Labyrinth’ features piano motifs recorded in just one take. It brings a dark paranoia in the uneasy, off-grid keys which dart about with nervous energy over the booming low ends. There is just as much intensity and edge to the unresolved keys that loop over the raw drums on ‘A Rainy Day in Bogota’, before digital bonus cuts ‘Dorian’ and ‘Phantom’ bring more jazzed out techno madness with warped keys and expressive elements bringing great invention.

“I produced this track simply by listening to the singer's voice, which immediately struck me as incredible and full of character. I wanted to do something different with it, to take it out of its original context and take it somewhere else.
I imagined what it would sound like in a techno set, adding a touch of disco and a little pep... a kind of “sound shower,” fresh and dynamic, to create a real atmosphere.
It really inspired me, I projected myself directly into a moment of dancing, of letting go. That's the feeling I wanted to convey in the production.”

Laster Records launches with a powerful VA featuring Alarico, Yanamaste, Chontane and Roll Dann Spanish's techno movement force Laster expands its vision with the launch of Laster Records, inaugurating the label with a fierce various artists EP forged for peak-time madness and emotional depth. The debut release, Laster Records VA001, brings together four essential voices in modern techno: Alarico, Yanamaste, Chontane and Roll Dann, each contributing a distinctive cut to a shared narrative of intensity and evolution. The A-side opens with Alarico’s “Of Which Sugars”, a gritty, percussive storm of fast-paced techno, where tension builds through syncopated rhythms and distorted grooves. Following is Yanamaste’s “Disconnection”, a cerebral track infused with cold atmospheres, broken patterns and a sense of controlled chaos — reflecting the Georgian artist’s unmistakable mental approach. On the flip, Chontane delivers “Palindrome”, a futuristic and dynamic tool with flickering synth stabs and machine funk energy. The EP closes with Roll Dann’s “The Red House”, a cinematic and melancholic trip through layered textures and deep basslines, paying homage to the label’s own mythology.
