We no longer need to introduce DJ Babatr — founding figure of the Raptor House movement and a true pioneer of Venezuela’s electronic scene. From the streets of Caracas to dancefloors worldwide, his raw and vibrant sound blends tribal percussion, urban energy, and futuristic electronic pulses.

Couvre x Chefs had the honor of hosting him for his first club show in France in October 2023 at Petit Bain — a defining moment that marked the beginning of a lasting connection between the producer and our label.

Two years later, this relationship comes full circle with the release of Pedro Le Dino, an explosive and organic EP, due late 2025 on Couvre x Chefs. With this new project, DJ Babatr continues to push the boundaries of his sound, weaving Techno and Trance influences into the relentless rhythmic intensity that defines Raptor House, and asserting his unique vision of contemporary electronic music more than ever. 

Conceived as a true collaborative effort with Couvre x Chefs, the EP brings together four tracks from Babatr’s old-school repertoire — composed in 2004 and long circulated only informally — which are being officially released for the very first time. To extend this dialogue, each track has been reworked by four artists affiliated with CxC, offering a renewed perspective on these foundational pieces. 

Featuring four original tracks and four remixes by BJF, Scarlett, Tévéa, and Tim Karbon, Pedro Le Dino stands as a vibrant testament to the ongoing artistic exchange between Caracas and the French electronic scene, while marking a new milestone in DJ Babatr’s ever-evolving trajectory.

Recluse - Sourdrum

Chaos and Order is the new project from B E N N, a Taipei-based producer/ DJ and founder of label Over My Body, operating at the intersection of sound, philosophy and abstraction.

Chaos and Order is an auditory study of rupture and resonance, an experimental soundscape shaped by modern sonic fragmentation. Drawing inspiration from Taoist cosmology, B E N N weaves fractured rhythms, collapsing structures, and granular forms of digital decay to embody the shifting interplay of Yin and Yang, entropy and order in constant flux. Across the EP rhythms become rituals, and forms become states of perpetual disintegration and reassembly, where glitch is not error but in essence an aesthetic of imperfection and transformation. His work resists resolution, favoring inward collapse and constant transformation: Intimate yet conceptual, narrative driven yet defiantly non-linear. His work is continuously shifting between post-club terrains and more abstract sonic inquiry.

K1RA - Grow Apart (Entrañas rmx)

Phran returns to Best Effort with an incendiary array of dance floor heaters, transmogrifying his hypnotherapeutic impulses in some startlingly different ways.

Phran introduces his DJ Phidias persona on the A side of the 12”. Proceedings start with “Sisplau” and its darker complement, “Diamantera” - two cuts of twitchy latin drum programming, dub delay flourishes and freaky synth lines that recall the acid-drenched deliriousness of Villalobos' cooked conga sessions. The pitched-down B-Boy rhythms of “Dummy Text Generator” are a change of pace but are no less weird, setting an acrobatic, constantly contorting acid line over fizzing roland drums. 

The B-side is fully submerged in murk - First on “Fleurhaus” and then when versioned on “Fleursky”. The former foregrounds the snappy drums and heavy bassline before seemingly drifting off into an abyss of echo, returning - albeit slightly - from the void on the ethereal “Fleursky”, where he’s joined by constant co-conspirator Ivy Barkakati on a Casio SA-39 keyboard. Amplifying the beautiful spaciness of the original while retaining the bass pressure, it’s a perfect implementation of dub’s alchemical processes .
